Dutch Apple. Cherry. Banana Cream. Chocolate Peanut Butter. Almond Mocha. Lemon Meringue. Strawberry-Rhubarb. Blueberry. Black-Bottom. Mixed Berry. Banana Caramel Cheesecake. Pie, glorious pie! That list might make you drool, but for the culinarily-inclined, it might make you feel inspired to break out your baking dishes and best recipe to enter KCRW's Good Food Pie Contest.

LA's best home-baked pies will be judged by some of our city's top taste-makers in an event being held as part of KCRW's Sounds Around Town, which is bringing the best of the station into the community with a series of events at Westfield Shopping Centers. On Saturday November 14th, pie-baking contestants will bring their pre-registered pies to the Topanga Shopping Center and, which will be judged by a panel that includes Chef Mark Peel of Campanile, LA Times Food Editor Russ Parsons, and Top Chef contestant Chef Stefan Richter. The first-ever event will be hosted by KCRW's Good Food guru, Evan Kleiman.

To enter, register by November 8th, then bake your pie and bring it to the Valley the day of the event. You can enter multiple pies, but only one in each of the four categories (Fruit & Nut; Cream/Custard/Chiffon/Mousse; Interpretive Pie; Savory). What's in it for the winners, besides the obvious glory and eternal obligation to bring pie to every work and family gathering? Details about the prizes will be revealed ahead of the event. In the meantime, what are you waiting for? You've got a crust recipe to perfect and fillings to pick out! Get baking!
