Photo Essay: An Afternoon at the 2009 LA County Fair
Although one could spend days exploring the LA County Fair, LAist was surprised to find just how much can be packed into one afternoon. In the past, we've shared images of fried food, ice cream and a massive brick of cheese fries. This time around, we turned our attention to fun and engaging activities for kids, as well as some rides, items for sale, and other miscellaneous goodies.
Especially fun were the Jurassic Planet building, which includes massive animatronic dinosaurs, and the Under the Sea building, which features hands-on science projects as well as arts & crafts entries from kids across LA County.
LAist also captured some images of carnival game prizes. More than in previous years, this year's prize theme seemed to focus on cash—not actually currency, but the image of hundred dollar bills on everything from pillows to stuffed animals.
The LA County Fair continues through Oct. 4, and is open Wednesday - Sunday. Click here to read LAist's 2009 Fair Preview.
