Pixar's New WALL-E Trailer

WALL-E Exclusive Trailer

Pixar today released a new trailer for their upcoming movie, WALL-E. The movie is set in the semi-distant future where planet earth is covered with garbage, caused by an overabundance of consumerism, and leads to everyone leaving earth. Before all of earth's population leaves though, they set to work millions of robots to clean up the mess they've made. But things don't work out so well, and 700 years later one lone robot still works. His name is WALL-E.

I think it's kind of ironic that the movie is about consumerism, and how horrible it can be for our world, and yet Pixar is owned by Disney, who could possibly one of the best examples of the types of companies that contribute to a problem like this. Think about all the Disneyland/worlds and the amount of trash they create, all of the toys they release, the VHS and DVD movies that people chuck... could Pixar be making a slight jab at their parent company?

No matter though, the movie should be extremely enjoyable for everyone, as most of their movies tend to be. WALL-E was directed by Andrew Stanton, who also directed one of Pixar's other best movies, Finding Nemo, so I have pretty high hopes for WALL-E. Plus, WALL-E is like the adorable version of Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, and sounds like R2-D2, so how can they go wrong?
