As part of the second annual National Distracted Driving Awareness Month campaign -- "It's Not Worth It!" -- the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), Impact Teen Drivers and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies will crack down on drivers text messaging and talking on their cell phones.

Zombies: A $5 Billion Industry
There's a new twist to the zombie economy climate, and it's actually quite sunny. As you tune in to the latest episode of "The Walking Dead," press play and watch (again) "Shaun of the Dead" and/or add the finishing touches to your zombie costume for Halloween this year, think about the masses of other consumers just like you.

Zombies, ages 9 to 70, will invade four downtown Huntington Beach locations during tonight's Art Walk. Relax. They won't be eating brains. They'll be dancing to "Thriller" in performances choreographed by students from the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts.
Zombies Injured During Filming of 'Resident Evil 5'

Zombies Rise Again to Make Halloween a 'Thriller' Night
If you were at LA Live on Halloween night, whether to see the Michael Jackson concert-documentary film This is It or just enjoy the evening out, you may have thought for a moment you'd stumbled onto the set of a horror film or a cemetery in full uproar thanks to the assembled dancers participating in yet another dance-along to the late pop icon's mega hit. Just one week earlier a record-breaking 22,923 people danced in 32 countries as part of the Thrill the World annual event; some of those performers were back among the undead to entertain the crowd at the Clippers game Saturday night.
Zombies Take Over Hollywood!
If you happened to be around Hollywood & Highland on Saturday evening, you may have encountered a spooky sight: Zombies! Organized by fans of the genre, a "Zombiewalk" took place this weekend, which found a band of bloody, creepy, blank-faced undead Angelenos making use of the public transit system and taking a stroll through the heart of Hollywood to celebrate all that is zombie.
LAist Movie Review: 1,000 Years of Good Prayers
People must think it’s really hard to lead a cult. Navigating those large crowds into giving you their money, spending sleepless nights convincing the weak-minded to do your most obscure bidding, only to have them all kill themselves at a moment’s notice. Actually, most of that does sound pretty hard; except the suicide bit. Here’s the trick: if you ever develop an unstable bloodlust that can only be satiated by stopping the neural processes inside the brains of large groups of people, get a copy of the movie 1,000 Years of Good Prayers and send out an Evite.
TV Junkie: Monday
At this point my whole week is focused on getting to AMC's Breaking Bad which debuts this upcoming Sunday. AMC scored a couple Golden Globes with Mad Men, let's see if they can repeat the success. On face value Breaking Bad is more interesting than anything the Big Four have planned for us.
