Thanks to all for sending in some great happy hour tips! Here are a few more so you can get your drink on this frosty Friday evening. Don't forget to send your happy hour suggestions to carrie@laist.com From reader David: Dragon on the Hermosa Beach Pier, "Lucky Hour" from 4-9PM every day: They have a different special each day. Yesterday I was lucky enough to hang out with a real super hero - even if he just plays one on TV. Greg Grunberg, who plays Officer Matt Parkman on "Heroes", gave me a personal backstage tour, allowed me to view the taping of a scene with the adorable Adair Tishler, and treated me with access to the inner workings of the magical world of NBC's hottest show. We even spent some time with......

Yesterday I was out shopping all day. It was my friend Cathi’s way of staging an intervention for me. All of my friends are concerned that I’ve become so tied to sports, they are doing everything they can to get me out. Yesterday it worked. What can I say? I’m weak when it comes to shopping. Anyhow, I’d like to take this moment to say that I’m a fucking genius. I picked 13 of......

Yesterday I flexed, I saved power, I took a quick shower in the dark, I refused to use AC in the middle of the day and I lost one candle (or at least, I have a new piece of art resembling, uh....). So what is this flexing your power thing?A Flex Alert is an urgent call for California businesses, governments and residents to voluntarily reduce their electricity use. The alert is used to prevent......

Kermit the Frog was so right -- "It's not easy being green." Yesterday I tried buying my first Monthly Metro Pass ever. I failed. I thought it would be easy to spend 62-bucks in this town. But apparently a Metro bus pass for the month is a hot item in the Valley. My local liquor store was sold out. Same story for Ralphs. Pavilions too. Then I called a different Ralphs, this time the......

I was angry and hurt. I said some things I didn't really mean. I used words like "hate" and "twits." I take it all back. The production company that used my street and forced the towing of my car is going to reimburse me. Yesterday I contacted the city and they directed me to FilmLA (as did several LAist readers' comments -- thank you), who gave me the name and phone number for the......

Yesterday I attended American Cinematheque's tiki festival at the Egyptian. The television clips segment was an episode of Hawaiian Eye, a cheesy wanna-be Hawaii 5-0 with some of the most camp moments imaginable. Interspersed between the "commercial breaks" were B-movie coming attractions and hilarious ads ("Salem makes your taste fresher!"). There were a variety of vendors selling tiki wares, and after the movie, King Kukelele and his Friki Tikis got the courtyard hoppin' to......

One had never seen so much commotion on Robertson Boulevard, even on a day when Paris or Lindsey are nowhere in sight. Yesterday British designer Anya Hindmarch's limited edition, ecologically-friendly bag took center stage. All this for $15!! I had heard of the first edition of these bags long after they had sold out. I checked out the website to see what all the fuss was about. There one could register for the waiting......

James Caan, Ray Liotta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Josh Lucas, Jerry O'Connell, "Snoop Dogg", Jerry Bruckheimer and Mark McGwire. Is this the cast for next summers biggest blockbuster? No way hockey fans! That's just a sprinkling of the giant mega superstars that attended last nights 1-0 win by the hometown Ducks. The Ducks are now up 2-0 in the series and are poised to bring the Stanley Cup to the West Coast for the first......
