Tonight Staten Island-bred Wu Tang Clan member Raekwon will be performing at the Key Club. Young beat-maker and owner of local record store Poo-Bah Records Ras G is poised to headline this week's edition of Low End Theory at the Airliner. And, lastly, Jason Simon of LA-based psych rock outfit Dead Meadow will be gracing the Silver Lake Lounge. But we strongly suggest heading over to Bordello to catch LAist favorites Local Natives (LAist Review). Local indie rockers the Flying Tourbillon Orchestra (LAist Review, #2) are slated to kick things off.

If $75 is too rich for your blood to see the Wu-Tang Clan tonight at the House of Blues, and most likely it is, consider the recently relesed Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan DVD as a much cheaper alternative to getting your fix of the 36 Chambers.

Tonight Manchester's most dysfunctional kinship, Oasis, are headlining the Staples Center in Downtown. NY-based hip hop collective the Wu-Tang Clan will be stopping through the House of Blues Sunset. Social Distortion front man Mike Ness is kicking off a two-night stint at the El Rey Theatre. And, lastly, producer/singer-songwriter Butch Walker will be rocking out to a sold-out crowd at the Largo at the Coronet. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to see the Sea and Cake. The Chicago-based quartet will presumably be playing jazz-infused pop rock tunes from 2008's Car Alarm.

Nothing says Hebrew like some good old (testament) Hip-Hop.

No doubt one of the most highly anticipated hip-hop releases of the year, 8 Diagrams is the latest effort from the Wu-Tang Clan. Pushed back several times, and surrounded by an incredible amount of hype, this album had a great potential to suck - particularly in light of the Wu's last couple of albums. Fortunately, however, 8 Diagrams packs enough heat to make it the best Wu album since their classic Wu-Tang Forever.

What would you do to see a newly reunited Rage Against the Machine playing on the same stage and day as Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, The Roots, Nas and Talib Kweli? If you said: Drive over an hour, stand in a line for 80 minutes in the 99 degree sun, avoid a restroom for nine hours, sit in possibly the worst parking lot traffic the Western Hemisphere has ever seen and inhale...
