Badminton, Anyone?
That's right. Badminton's greatest prize (outside of the Olympic Games) will be awarded this week at The Pond. All of this is part of the great work done recently by the LA Sports Council, which has been working to bring major sporting events to SoCal in an effort to raise our international sports profile.
LA is On Track
What is that? Well, Phil Anschutz and co. (aka the Sports Lords of LA) think cycling is the next budding sport in SoCal, and invested $15 million in North America's only indoor velodrome to prove it. Admittedly, LAist has not watched much track cycling before, but the thought of bycycles going around a track is much more appealing than say, watching NASCAR.
