This has nothing to do with Los Angeles -- except people won't stop talking about it. Check out the "unofficial" promo video for Appalachian State University (the school that shocked the sports world by beating Michigan in college football). Has anybody else noticed that announcers are pronouncing it "ap-ah-LACH-in" (rhymes with hatch-in) instead of "ap-ah-lation" (rhymes with nation)? Are we the only ones going nuts about that?......

In one of the last college football games last season, the Boise State Broncos upset the Oklahoma Sooners 43-42 in overtime in the Fiesta Bowl. It was perhaps the biggest upset ever seen in college football at that point. This first week of the college football season gave us the biggest upset almost no one saw. Saturday afternoon two-time defending Division I-AA champions Appalachian State upset #5 Michigan 34-32 in front of 109,000 Wolverine......

Just days after winning the Rose Bowl, USC kicker Mario Danelo was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in San Pedro. Internet message boards are flooded with rumors, but there has been very little confirmed at this time. His body was found around 4:30pm on Saturday. Danelo had some major ups and downs this week. On Monday, he hit two key field goals to help USC win the Rose Bowl against Michigan. In......

Trojans 32, Wolverines 18 - After losing two games in the Rose Bowl in 2006 (one against Texas in the national championship, the other against UCLA to keep them out of another national championship), USC had a lot of doubters. Not any more. While LA news outlets have probably told you the score and a few key stats, here are the best story lines you probably haven't heard: - This was the first game......

The 93rd Rose Bowl kicks off just after 2pm on Monday, and anybody with tickets (or hope of scalping them) had better be prepared for more than just traffic. It's bad enough that almost 100,000 people will attempt to cram into a small area, but additional street closures and crowds from one of the world's most famous parades creates a formula for disaster. When USC and UCLA played on December 2, Pasadena Police blocked......

We're not bitter that the Texas Longhorns marched into Pasadena yesterday and walked away with a thrilling Rose Bowl victory at the end of a great game. We're not bitter that it was so cold in the arena that we were more obsessed with wind chill and frozen toes in the stands than we were with Vince Young's Michael Vick impersonation on the field or Lloyd Carr's decision to save his timeouts to ice......
