As a devoted fan of Wet Hot American Summer, I feel it's my duty to give top-billing to the equally hilarious The Ten. I'm not sure there was a more surreal comic moment last year than Liev Schreiber's competition with his neighbor over--what else--CAT-scan machines. I almost resent Ricky Gervais for not sticking with Extras a few more years. There are now only three funny shows left on TV. Between grief and Good Luck......

It's well known that before there was "Hollywood," there was Edendale, home of Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios but lately the indie film shooting hot spot in 90026/39 seems to be Echo Park Lake. It's not like Echo Park suddenly reemerged on the live set scene following the excellent, filmed-throughout-Echo-Park Quinceañera, in fact, we're sure that numerous films have filmed key scenes at the home of the Lotus Fest and Dragon Boat Races. Last month,......

We couldn't drive by without finding out what could possibly necessitate a fully table-clothed catered lunch at Echo Park Lake at 2 p.m. on a Monday. Turned out to be cast and crew from the independently produced The Last Word starring Ray Romano and Winona Ryder, which is being tagged as a romantic dramadey. No word on whether or not Winona rises from the depths of Echo Park Lake as a mermaid to tantalize......

The story was just too good to ignore: good-looking UCLA doctor allegedly hooking up with his thirtysomething supervisor and bopping around LA in a sportster breaking hearts, taking names, and then being sued for slander. Meanwhile the doc was suing the world famous university for losing his job as chief resident once he had dumped the supervisor. Yesterday a jury found that Dr. David Martorano who now has a private practice in Malibu, did......

Don't say we don't do anything for you. A few years back Comedy Central teamed Amy Sedaris with Stephen Colbert and created the totally hilarious and ridiculous spoof of after-school specials, "Strangers with Candy". The tv series lasted three seasons, and all of the episodes (six dvds worth) are being released by Comedy Central to support the film "Strangers With Candy" -- of which, LA, there will be a special sneak screening tonight at......

If you hit boredom this weekend, maybe a movie about overcoming boredom will suit the bill. Duck Season is a Mexican indie comedy where the XBOX breaks, the neighbor girl comes over to bake, and the pizza boy won’t leave (we wouldn’t pay a 30 minute delivery guarantee if it were 11 seconds late either!). Duck Season plays at the Laemmle’s Sunset 5, Monica 4, and the Playhouse 7 in Pasadena. For only on......

CalArts teacher and Los Angeles photographer/media artist Dwayne Moser is wowing them in London this month. Art Daily.com reports that two of Mosers works on display at the Laura Bartlett Gallery as part of The Acceptance World, a group show of international artists showing work related to modern landscapes. Moser photographs sites of celebrity scandal in Los Angeles and converts the images into scenic backdrops appropriate for motion picture sets. The Brits are eating......

See, stars are just like us. They have yard sales. Cartoon Brew tips us off that Tim Burton and his wife, Lisa Marie (That's what Cartoon Brew says. LAist thinks he's married to Helena Bonham Carter), will be having a yard sale this month in Azusa. Amongst all of the fancy name brand stuff the Burtons will be selling at discounted rates will be movie memorabilia. We're pretty well stocked on our Nightmare Before......
