Update: "Authorities initially said the stabbing took place at Geisha House, which they said had been evacuated. However, in an e-mail to The Times this morning, a representative of the restaurant said the establishment was not open at the time of the incident," reported the LA Times earlier today. The incident actually took place inside the Mood nightclub and the stabbed victim collapsed near the Geisha House.


Hundreds of late-night restaurant club goers were removed last night from the celebrity-owned Geisha House in Hollywood after a fight left one man critically injured when he was stabbed in the stomach. The 1:30 a.m. fight was over a woman.

So we applaud the latest law that requires proper disposal of batteries, but LAist would like to suggest another one for the books: A state law requiring Hollywood starlets, past and present, to take a special driving test every other year. We're pushing this proposal in light of 90210's Shannen Doherty traffic incident on PCH yesterday.

The Gotham-centric Paper magazine runs a feature in the February 2005 issue that gives their guide of the "hottest restaurants, bars, clubs and shops in the city of angels" and it's actually not half bad. While they seem to be searching for all the things they love in New York in Los Angeles -- they have more than a little obsession with gangsters (of the mob kind not the neighborhood ones with which we're familiar) and finding designer gear -- they do happen on some spots around town that we're ashamed to say we didn't know about.
