Tonight Irish indie pop sensation Two Door Cinema Club will be headlining a sold-out show at the Troubadour. Echo Park-bred bilingual, genre-bending quartet Wait.Think.Fast. are poised to perform at Spaceland with none other than Pacha Massive in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. And, lastly, San Francisco native, electronic mastermind David Wang, who performs under the pseudonym Mochipet, will be gracing the Airliner for this week's edition of Low End Theory. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist Dosh (LAist Review), who will be ringing in his fifth album to date—2010's Tommy. Portland's own indie pop songstress Casey Dienel, or rather White Hinterland and lo-fi, noise-infused pop outfit the Baths are slated to kick things off.

White Hinterland's Top Ten of 2008
December is list-making season. And for us music journalists, it is a time to look back on scores of albums, reflect upon the music and recapitulate our favorites. But this year, just like the last, we took this opportunity to flip that tradition upside down, asking the artists that influenced us what influenced them. The prompt was not limited to albums that came out in 2008.
