Gunfire At Century City Mall, Jewelry Store Robbed
Police are investigating a jewelry store robbery and gunfire at the upscale, outdoor Westfield Century City shopping mall. Los Angeles Police Department officials said the incident occurred at around 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, according to LA Now.
Slashing Prices, Stabbing Humans At Arcadia Mall
Authorities say a young man was stabbed at an Arcadia mall on Friday when a fight broke out between two groups at the Westfield Santa Anita, reports the Pasadena Star News. An arrest was made in connection with the stabbing, however identities are being withheld while the incident is under investigation, according to a written statement by Arcadia police Sgt. Dan Crowther.

Costco Confirmed to be Anchor Store at Westfield Topanga
It was all but officially confirmed until this week. Costco will be the anchor store for The Village at Westfield Topanga in West San Fernando Valley. The news comes after letters sent to community members last month saying the grand vision for the upscale mixed-use project had been scaled back due to the economy. Originally, the $700 million plan to connect the Topanga and Promenade malls was said to rival Century City.
Westfield Mall Expansion Could Bring Supergraphics, Billboards Over 101 Freeway in Valley
Westfield is looking to do a 235,000 square foot expansion of their Sherman Oaks Fashion Square location, bringing back some of the outdoor promenade open air feel it had before the 1994 earthquake. It's been in an extensive community process for over three years with Westfield and neighbors working together, of course, not always agreeing together. After all, this is a regional mall smack dab in the middle of a single family home community.
Deadly Fall Reported at Topanga Plaza Mall
The LAFD is reporting a fatal fall at the Topanga Plaza shopping mall, located at 6600 Topanga Boulevard in Canoga Park. According to the LAFD's Brian Humphrey: "One person [is] dead at scene of (long?) fall at shopping mall." No further details are currently available. The mall is operated by the Westfield chain of malls, and opens for business on Sundays at 11 a.m. It is not clear if the incident took place before or during shopping hours or at what location in the mall the fall happened.

Yoko Ono & the New Neiman Marcus
The new Neiman Marcus slated to officially open this Friday in Canoga Park is expected to be a big one. It's the "centerpiece of the final phase of a $500 million renovation of Westfield Topanga," it will have "couture salons" (something not even the the NM in Beverly Hills has) and more than 100 pieces from the "The Art of John Lennon" will be on display this weekend at the store. "I'm proud of every work that's there," Yoko Ono told the Daily News. "I hand-picked them for good reason. They had to be artistically good and reflect his spirit." In Pasadena, Ono's Wish Tree project at One Colorado continues through November.
