Jutting out from the shoreline, alone and battered by the cold air and frothing waves of the sea, puncturing the horizon and so strangely remote, haunting the night like a tall wraith. Point Vicente Lighthouse is situated near the intersection of Palos Verdes Drive and Los Verdes Boulevard in the Rancho Palos Verdes section of Los Angeles. It has its own ghost. more ›

Weird Los Angeles: Mystery Big Black Cats

Weird Los Angeles: Mystery Big Black Cats

In parts of the USA and Canada the native 'big cat' is the cougar (mountain lion, puma) which is also known as the 'panther.' However, the puma isn't actually a big cat, despite its size, it is simply the largest of the Lesser Cats as it cannot roar like the leopard, lion and tiger. In other regions of the world the 'panther' is a term to describe another, and official 'big cat,' being the darker form, or melanistic leopard (black panther as it has become known). more ›

Weird Los Angeles

Weird Los Angeles

The Phantom Dog?A Mr Ferguson was a passenger in a car travelling from Los Angeles to Ontario during the year of 1970. In the car with him were his aunt, who was driving, and cousin. The vehicle twisted and turned and came to an almost rural stretch of road when a large dog came onto the opposite carriageway and began to run across the road.
