Week In Rock: Ray LaMontagne, The Swell Season, The Big Pink, The XX

This week Maine-bred folk singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne will be taking on a three-night stint at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown with LAist favorite, Illinois-based alternative country singer-songwriter Lissie. The Swell Season, an indie folk duo formed by Irish musician Glen Hansard and Czech singer and pianist Markéta Irglová, are poised to grace the Wiltern with Idaho's own pop folk singer-songwriter Josh Ritter in tow. St. Albans-based dance pop outfit Friendly Fires (LAist Review) will be headlining the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than acclaimed British indie rock outfit the XX. And, lastly, London-based electro-infused rock duo the Big Pink will be performing at the El Rey Theatre with Long Beach natives Crystal Antlers (LAist Review) and LA-bred goth/dance-infused rock duo IO Echo.

Legendary Austin-based art rock sextet ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead are poised to take on the Henry Fonda Music Box. One half of acclaimed electro pop duo the Knife, Swedish experimental electro outfit Fever Ray will also be performing at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than Pasadena-bred electronic mastermind Nosaj Thing. And, lastly, LAist's favorite English electro-pop outfit Metronomy (LAist Review) will be headlining the Roxy with local afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold.

Local afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold will be performing in-store at Amoeba Music in Hollywood. And, lastly, celebrated indie rock singer-songwriter David Bazan, who spent most of his formative years performing under the moniker Pedro the Lion, will be taking on the Troubadour.

This week Wisconsin-bred folk singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, otherwise known as Bon Iver (LAist Review), will be performing at the Wiltern with none other than Durham's own Megafaun and by himself at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Local indie rockers Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are poised to take on not only the El Rey Theatre, but the Abbot Kinney Music Festival later on in the week as well. Telefon Tel Aviv, a Chicago-based experimental electronic duo that experienced the unexpected passing of one of its two members—Charles Cooper—at the beginning of the year, will be making a triumphant return to Spaceland. And, lastly, French "freak folk" outfit CocoRosie will be headlining the Henry Fonda Music Box.
