LA DWP crews are at work this afternoon to repair a large sinkhole that has opened up on Sunset Blvd. as a result of a water main break that happened earlier this morning. The hole is at Sunset and North Edgemont, near the Kaiser Permanente facilities. Kaiser was without water for a short time this morning, according to a live report on KTLA, however no patients were affected. The Los Angeles Fire Department is reporting major flooding on the 7000 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, near Sherman Way. It looks like a sheared fire hydrant, but it is reportedly a water main break. A second water main break occurred last night in the Hollywood Hills, a few miles drive east from an earlier break. LADWP crews cleared the "slow leak" break on Packwood Trail off Mulholland Drive by 2:30 a.m., more ethan four hours after the break was reported.
