UCLA Bruins defeat Washington State Cougars 48-24. The final score made it look like it was an easy enough win for the Bruins, but it was anything but. The Bruins fell asleep allowing Wazzu to take a 28-20 lead in the third quarter. The offense finally woke up midway through the third quarter going on a 67-yard touchdown drive that took up four minutes and got the two-point conversion to tie the game. more ›

Arizona Diamondbacks defeat LA Dodgers 5-2. John Ely and the strike zone still aren’t seeing eye-to-eye with Ely allowing six walks to Diamondbacks’ hitters. After Stephen Drew scored on Tony Abreu’s sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to tie the game 1-1, Cole Gillespie gave the D-Backs the 4-1 lead with a three run homer off of Ely in the sixth inning. more ›

Stanford Cardinal defeat USC Trojans 55-21. It wasn’t incredulous to think Stanford could beat USC at home. They did it two years ago as a 41-point underdog. But no one thought it would be this epic. On homecoming day, the Trojans gave up the most points in their 121-year history to Stanford. The Trojans turned the ball over twice in the first quarter resulting in two touchdowns for the Cardinal. People have been asking me all week what I thought of Saturday’s game between USC and the Washington State Cougars. I guess they expected me to eviscerate the Trojans and expect them to lose two games in a row just because I accurately predicted they would lose to the Huskies. How silly. LA Lakers defeat San Antonio Spurs 102-95. The Lakers started out strong in the first quarter shooting 64%, but the mileage from the road trip started to show in the second half. What was once an 18 point lead dwindled away to just two points with two minutes left in the game. But the Lakers withstood everything the Spurs threw at them giving them a crucial road win. The Lakers have yet to lose to the same opponent twice, and the win gives them their 20th Pacific Division title. They are the first Western Conference team to clinch a playoff spot, and with the Spurs now 8 1/2 games out of first place look to have firm control of the best record in the West. more ›

When the crowd starts hanging on every action of Sun Yue on the court, you know the Lakers have coasted.
