Sonics 95, Clippers 88 - Seven is unlucky for the Clipper -- it's how many games they've lost in a row. Seattle led...
LAst Night's Action: Lakers/Ducks Win, Clippers/Kings Lose, World is Right
Local Sports Writers on the Lakers' Future
Now that the Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs after last night’s 119-110 loss to the Phoenix Suns, local sports writers weighed in this morning about where to place the blame. columnist J.A. Adande joins a growing number of people who are looking to coach Phil Jackson for some answers. Jackson is a Hall of Famer and is considered by many to be one of the best coaches in NBA history, but lately some have been questioning the efficacy of his triangle offense with the current Lakers team. Adande thinks the Lakers certainly have the right players, but proposes that Jackson rethink his coaching style. “Something different than the erratic, three-point jacking under former coach Rudy Tomjanovich, but not as limited as what they’re doing now,” he suggests.
What’s Ailing The Lakers?
It seems as if the Lakers are inventing new ways to lose of late. Last night’s double overtime loss to Minnesota included some beauties –- including failing to throw the ball in bounds to the open man, something successfully pulled off by junior high teams. Laker veteran Aaron McKie couldn’t see Brian Cook waiting for the ball with a wide-open shot to win the game.
Snowboarding Can Be Expensive
Experience has taught us there is no such thing as a cheap weekend in Park City.
LAst Night's Actions: Clippers Carry On
Clippers 96, Sonics 91 - One game after Shaun Livingston ruined his knee -- and possibly career -- the ailing Clippers pulled off their third consecutive victory. The line of the night went to an anonymous AP reporter who observed that "Chris Wilcox, a former...

Detroit went up by as many as 20 and dominated from the outset. Webber had 18 points and 11 rebounds, leading a rejuvenated Pistons squad to their fifth straight win and a 9-2 record since he joined the team. Kobe Bryant...
Doing Fine, Thank You Very Much
Tonight, when the Lakers take the floor in the underrated city of Charlotte (5:30, KCAL9), it will be their 10th game since Lamar Odom went down with a sprained knee. It also is the end of their first long road trip.
Luke Is Not His Father
This past off-season, the Lakers spent $30 million of Jerry Buss’ poker winnings to convince Vladimir Radmanovic to cross the hall from the Clipper locker room to the Lakers’. It made sense: The Lakers needed a sharp-shooter from three-point range to spread opposing defenses, giving Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom room to work inside.
Lakers Get Rad, Clippers Take Thomas
Donald Sterling is proving that he's still determined to shed his label for being cheap. Yesterday he re-signed his (almost) 37-yr old point guard Sam Cassell for two more years at $6.5 mil a year, and then he nearly doubled Phoenix's offer to Tim Thomas, who will probably be the Clippers' 6th man.
LA Splits in Playoff Openers
Over the weekend the Lakers and Clippers opened their playoff runs against the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets respectively. Its been a while since we have had TWO teams in the playoffs, mainly due to the Clippers past weakness... but this time around the higher seeded Clippers were the team that got it done.
