We're getting both barrels from NBC tonight as all their primetime comedy shows have new episodes this evening. Granted, if "The Office" or "30 Rock" seem less than stellar we'll have no problems shifting over to watch "Fringe" on Fox but it will be difficult not to do some switching back and forth. The stroke of midnight tonight could bring more disappointment than delight for Time Warner subscribers. If the cable company doesn't pony up an agreement to Viacom Inc.'s demands of 25 cents more per subscriber, they will yank all 19 of the channels they own from their airwaves at 12:01 a.m. January 1st. more ›

Seems like everyone is running to the web these days as a secondary broadcast option. NBC did it a long time ago and now a couple more big names are heading that direction. Viacom will be adding an assortment of its shows to Fox-NBC joint-venture HULU - yeah, finally we'll be able to see full length episodes of "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" rather than the ridiculous little clips we've been getting off of the Comedy Central website. more ›

So The Colber(t) Repor(t) and The Daily Show are back and while Colbert, Stewart, Kimmel, and Conan are all nimble on their feet, and very funny and engaging, it's amazing how the success of all these shows really comes down to the writing. It's great to have them all back on the air and it does provide us all with some late night alternatives, but I hope NBC, ABC, and Viacom come to their senses and end this. Paramount Pictures announced this week that they are ending their 14-year relationship with Tom Cruise and his Cruise/Wagner production company. The relationship between Cruise's production company and Paramount disintegrated into name-calling after Sumner Redstone, chairman of Paramount parent company Viacom Inc., said Cruise's recent behavior, such as jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch and pushing his Scientology agenda, was "creative suicide."
