Blue Palms Brew House announced that it will be closing its doors next week—at least temporarily—when the operators of the Music Box at the Henry Fonda are evicted.
The tenure of the bar and restaurant housed inside the Music Box was thrown into jeopardy, because it sub-leases its space through the music venue, which shut down earlier this month.

Rolling Stone Magazine to Open a Nightclub, Restaurant in Hollywood
Although the Hollywood & Highland area lost the Knitting Factory, it will soon gain a new club, of sorts. Rolling Stone Magazine this summer will open a two-tiered nightclub and restaurant. It won't be a music venue, however, as it will be more DJ-based (though they say live events will happen time to time).
How will the 10,000 square-foot space work? The top floor, which will open up into the Hollywood & Highland outdoor mall will be a bar and restaurant, meant for tourists and locals a like. On the street level, the vibe gets more exclusive and will include heftier prices and the like.

LAistory: The Pan Pacific Auditorium
Imagine a structure hailed for its exterior design that took 60 days to build, was trafficked by hundreds of thousands of people for almost four decades, spent 17 years abandoned with an uncertain fate, contributed to the launch of LA's preservation movement, and took one night to burn to the ground.
Have You Been to the Vampire Bar in Long Beach?
If you faithfully watched the first season of "True Blood" on HBO this Fall, then you'll remember Fangtasia, the vampire bar set in Shreveport, Louisiana. The true setting of the bar isn't too far off from reality, in alternative theme at least. It's actually Alex's Bar in Long Beach which is one of the top venues for punk music in the Los Angeles area. LAist has visited them a number of times for shows and is happy to see the great venue used for a great show (also a candy-crack easy-to-read addicting book series by Charlaine Harris).

Knitting Factory to Keeps its Location... For Now

Scientologists Had a Hand in Knitting Factory's Troubles
On Thursday, the Hollywood music venue, Knitting Factory, will be at a morning hearing that could revoke the Conditional Use Permit that allows the space to operate. The hearing was prompted by a petition circulated by an employee of the neighboring Scientology building and signed by a total of 31 people, according to a Knitting Factory spokesman. The two complaints listed say that the venue is a nuisance to the community and challenges their adherence to the permit. Rumors are also floating around that there are tensions between the venue and landlord, CIM Group, but the Knitting Factory says they hear the developer may "go at bat" for them.
Knitting Factory to Close its Doors or Move?
The music venue that is the Knitting Factory has been a mainstay in the resurgence of Hollywood since 2000. As an anchor tenant and early adopter of the area, the New York City based club saw Hollywood change from having the 18th Street Gang territory sit one block away to having tourists flock the area making it a likely candidate for one of the most pedestrian dense areas in the city. Now that the area is built up and the Factory is surrounded by national brand name stores and businesses, trouble has come knocking on the door.
