Close your eyes and gather around the radio and listen to tales that will make you cringe or giggle. This Saturday night brings the next monthly installment of The Thrilling Adventure & Supernatural Suspense Hour, a live old-school style radio performance at the M Bar in Hollywood, which according to the fine folks at Workjuice is comprised of "several serialized short-form comedic radio plays as well as standalone pieces, musical numbers, and the occasional...

Remember back in the mid 90s or so, when MTV used to play videos? Think hard. Okay, and then there was this period where, right before they cut to a commercial, there was a clip of a Sinatra wannabe singing the song you just saw a video for? Like a snazzy rendition of "Kharma Police" or something of the sort. (Okay, that would've been late 90s. Whatever.) Well, that dude is "Rudy Casoni", a character...
Upright Citizen’s Brigade has the hipster comedy scene cornered in a way that could make Wes Anderson weep. The lines to get into their shows look like Urban Outfitters threw up on them, past performers have included the likes of Sarah Silverman and Janeane Garofalo, and one of the founders is uber-hip comedienne Amy Poehler. Their dominance of alt-funny Los Angeles is pretty much undisputed.

(But not necessarily with the music -- which has been pretty average this season.) The Idol...

Hi my Dear fans and friends alike, I have decided to not return to Saturday Night Live this season. I wish the best to everyone at the show and expect them to have a great season. It's...
WEDNESDAY
First, the parties you might be too late to go to: Giant Step Records hosts a listening party for Simply Good Music, Volume 2 at Star Shoes tonight. They still have RSVP info up so you could still get on that list. In other listening party news, Faith Evans's new album will be previewed tomorrow night at The Lounge. The Lounge is at 9077 Santa Monica Blvd (it's near the Troubadour). If you can't make it out for that one, we hear there's another listening party on Monday at Joseph's but we've been finding that spot even more skeevy than usual of late. All listening parties are promising free giveaways of some sort.
West Hollywood political life will have to go on without the constant guard of muckraker James Fuhrman, the self-appointed autonomous "ethics commission" for the city. And as Bob Pool reports in the , many folks in WeHo seem to be just fine with that.
