A twin-engine jet skidded off the runway during takeoff today at Van Nuys airport, according to CBS Los Angeles. The aircraft is a Mexican-registered Falcon jet that aborted its takeoff and skidded into a dirt area 100 feet off the runway before coming to a full stop. LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said the incident was reported at 1:14 p.m. and that were no injuries and no fire. No details have been released on why the pilot aborted takeoff. more ›

On Monday, Lisette Lee, 28, of Beverly Hills found herself under arrest when she arrived at the airport in Columbus, Ohio, after flying in from Van Nuys Airport with one personal assistant, two bodyguards, at least 12 suitcases, and 500 pounds of marijuana, according to LA Now. As a result, "Lee has been charged with conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute. She is being held without bail pending a hearing Friday in Ohio."
