Private Pot Plane: Socialite Pleads Guilty To Drug Smuggling
Lisette Lee, the Beverly Hills socialite and actress who left on a private jet from Van Nuys airport in June and was subsequently arrested in Columbus, Ohio for smuggling more than 500 pounds of marijuana inside 13 suitcases, has pleaded guilty. At the time of the arrest, authorities also confiscated cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, three cell phones and suspected drug ledgers from Lee's bag.
Jet Skids Off Runway During Takeoff in Van Nuys
A twin-engine jet skidded off the runway during takeoff today at Van Nuys airport, according to CBS Los Angeles. The aircraft is a Mexican-registered Falcon jet that aborted its takeoff and skidded into a dirt area 100 feet off the runway before coming to a full stop. LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said the incident was reported at 1:14 p.m. and that were no injuries and no fire. No details have been released on why the pilot aborted takeoff.
Beverly Hills Pot Smuggler Nabbed at Ohio Airport
Even with a private jet, you still can't expect to haul marijuana from one state to another...and get away with it. On Monday, Lisette Lee, 28, of Beverly Hills found herself under arrest when she arrived at the airport in Columbus, Ohio, after flying in from Van Nuys Airport with one personal assistant, two bodyguards, at least 12 suitcases, and 500 pounds of marijuana, according to LA Now. As a result, "Lee has been charged with conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute. She is being held without bail pending a hearing Friday in Ohio." Two ID'd in Corvette Crash that Killed Four
The names of two killed in the deadly Thursday morning crash that left four dead have been released, according to the LA Times. Jorge Nunez Jr., 28, of Sylmar, and Jossue D. Colato, 23, of Pacoima have been identified by the coroner's office. The names of the two women were not released.

KABC-TV is reporting a shooting death in front of a Van Nuys apartment building that has left one person dead. Two suspects, one reported to be a female, were apparently seen running eastbond on Vanowen towards Sepulveda. LAPD Media Relations has few details at the moment. Also: The Los Angeles Fire Depatment is reporting the death of a man in his 60's who was apparently was killed in a trash compactor at 8201 N. Woodley Ave., near the Van Nuys Airport.
