Of course the big stinking deal tonight is the season premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" on The CW (be sure to check out our vid with Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley at the end of this post) with the idea that this will send up dominant viewership of the following program "Nikita" whose billboards are currently plastering the town.

Saturday Night at PaleyFest: 'The Vampire Diaries'
On Saturday March 6th, 2010, at the Saban Theatre, the Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest2010 held its "Vampire Diaries" night to honor the series from the CW. We managed to get a few words in with Paul Wesley aka Stefan Salvatore, and Nina Dobrev aka Elena Gilbert & Katherine Pierce. Fans had been lining up to spend most of the day in rain showers as they waited for the show to start at 7pm.
TV Junkie: Kanye Helps Leno; 'Vampire' (Alleged) Boobies
Last Friday we talked about the teenagification of the vampire genre and whaddaya know, The CW's "Vampire Diaries" opened to record viewership. Despite the success, four of the series' actresses and a CW cameraman were cited after allegedly flashing drivers on a major freeway in Atlanta. Kayla Ewell, who plays Vicki, said that the incident has been blown out of proportion, and that, "In all honesty, the size of my breasts aren’t necessarily something people would be interested in." Publicity stunt or is it just the joy of being 27(?!) and under?
TV Junkie: Ellen to Judge; 'Vampire Diaries'? Cracka Please
"The Vampire Diaries" has its season premiere on The CW and it seems a little too late, too teenagery, and too lame to even consider turning on (and lookit how white everyone is). We think that, someday, most folks will realize that Twilight was crap also - David Duchovny's Hank Moody in the upcoming season of "Californication" succinctly guts the genre and it's well worth watching when it premieres later this month.
