While the Great UCLA Versus USC Debate may never reach a resolution (those damn Trojans are too hard-headed and engorged with pride to recognize true superiority when they see it), all Californians can hold their heads up with pride thanks to our excellent universities. I don't know if you noticed the recent Washington Monthly ratings of the nation's top schools, but they're giving the U.S. News and World Report a run for their money....

Despite nearly getting killed on the Orange Line yesterday, our mayor is having quite the week. US News & World Report named him one of the 25 Best Leaders in the nation further solidifying Villaraigosa as much a National force as a local one. With all this high risk and high praise, he still has had time to strongly push for the NFL's return to the city as well and scoop the press on the death of another significant leader and praising a civil rights hero.
