Last week Hollywood lost the legendary Bea Arthur, when the funny lady of television and Broadway passed away at 86. The fab foursome of Arthur's hit series The Golden Girls is often compared with the totally different kind of fab foursome seen on Sex and the City, this TV Land video shows the late, great Arthur (along with television's other golden ladies Katherine Helmond, Charlotte Rae, and Sally Struthers) lampooning the HBO series, and reminding us she'll always have the last laugh. more ›

In case you didn't hear about it yet, but internist Dr. Kutner on FOX's "House" committed suicide in Monday's episode. This was hastily written into the script as the real-life Kal Penn is leaving acting for a while to go work for the Obama administration in the Office of Public Liaison. This also means no more Harold & Kumar movies for a while, so we're all sacrificing here - but seriously, congrats Kal and godspeed. more ›

Ad spending in the US dropped by 2.6% in 2008, with only cable increasing ad revenue for the year. TV and cable still retained a leadership position as the preferred media, taking more than 60% of all ad dollars. more ›

Comedy Central has started to establish some control over Wednesday nights. What's funny is that I started to go back to them on Wednesdays because of Lewis Black's excellent show "Root Of All Evil" (anyone catch him on Conan last week? He was great) and now I'm finding myself re-engaging with "South Park" but I'm sure that program directors at Comedy Central were planning for the flow to happen the other way. Whatever, it's working on me. "Lewis Black's Root Of All Evil" is the TV Junkie Pick tonight and not coincidentally because the incredible Patton Oswalt is on the show as one of the comedian-debaters seeking to prove whether Paris Hilton (or the very idea of her) is more evil than Dick Cheney. more ›

We're sad to learn that actress Suzanne Pleshette has died in Los Angeles from lung cancer at age 70. Although she appeared in film very early in her career in such high profile projects as Jerry Lewis' The Geisha Boy and Hitchcock's The Birds, the vast majority of her time was spent in television. more ›
