Tony Hawk's SkateCake at Crumbs Will Help Build Skate Parks
It's hard to imagine skateboarder Tony Hawk as a cupcake enthusiast, but if fans of his or fans of the baked treats--or both--are game, then everyone wins. Tony Hawk has paired up with Crumbs Bake Shop to create the SkateCake, a signature cupcake that is made of chocolate cake with baked-in sprinkles, and topped with vanilla cream cheese frosting, red and white sprinkles, and an edible skateboard designed by Hawk.

Quiksilver Old-School Vert Throwdown featuring Tony Hawk
Loud neon fashions and iconic 80's skaters including Tony Hawk and Christian Hosoi collided head-on for a nostalgic day at the Quiksilver Headquarters in Huntington Beach on Saturday. Skating legend Tony Hawk participated in his first competition in eight years and showed that hasn't lost a step by winning the contest with style. Not just style, but class, as he forfeited his $1,980 winnings by giving $200 to each non-placing competitor.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Off to a Good Start
LA Lakers defeat Portland Trail Blazers 96-76. Um wow. If that's what the Lakers will look like all season, I might have underestimated them. For years the words "Lakers" and "defense" couldn't be said in the same sentence without a snicker, but seeing the beat down they handed to Blazers just changed all of that. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 23 points while ex-Bruin Trevor Ariza notched a surprising 11. The word of the night was indeed defense with the Lakers holding the Blazers down to 34.5% shooting. Playing in his first NBA after rehabbing his knee last season, Greg Oden left the game in the first half after injuring his right foot. Oden went scoreless in 12:51.

TV Junkie: Big Wednesday
It's not really a big Wednesday, I'm just making a reference to the obscure and awful surfer flick starring Jan Michael Vincent and Gary Busey. I've got a major case of the munchies as I write this so tonight's primetime is all about food for me. 8:00pm Back To You FOX - Series Premiere - oops, NOT[TD]. I'm not so sure I want to give Kelsey Grammar another chance on network TV. I would like...
TV Junkie: Sex On Wheels; Amy Sedaris on Letterman; Poison on Ferguson
A Word or 54 (or so): I know that there are some folks who are happy to be getting a few new episodes of the doomed Studio 60 - enjoy it while you can. Funny how there is no cohesive letter-writing campaign to save that one, at least not a campaign that is getting any press. Tonight - Thursday - June 7th, 2007 Dodgers @ Padres (KCAL, 7:00 p.m.) Pirate Master (CBS, 8:00 p.m.)...
California (Homeless) Love
South Park aired "Night of the Living Homeless" a couple weeks ago. The last episode of the first half of season 11 (translation: they're taking a break until October) paid tribute to some famous SoCal icons ... namely Tupac, Tony Hawk, and, well, the homeless. Enjoy Cartman and Co's music video....
Jackass Steve-O Does a #1 Before #2 Premiere
Living up to the hype, rowdy stuntmaster Steve-O did his best to turn the red carpet yellow at Mann's Chinese before the "Jackass Number 2" premiere Thursday. Startled guests of the red carpet included Tony Hawk, Three-6 Mafia, and someone who has seen his share of exposed private parts in his day, Ron Jeremy. Photos of the arrivals here and please dont ask us what's in the plastic cup. No charges seem to have...
