The Hammer Museum pushes along with their music series tonight featuring The Tokyo Police Club and The Afternoons. And tomorrow night is a great night in music (full list below) with the Brotherhood Tour featuring the Lonely Boys & Los Lobos at the Greek Theatre, Diana Ross at the Hollywood Bowl and Wyclef Jean at House of Blues.

When it comes to Largo, now Largo at the Coronet, there's quite a number of hardcore fans. First, there was Fairfax-Avenue, a blog for Jon Brion who plays weekly at the space, which has now been turned into Largoverse, a blog that is "about the umbrella of artists that perform in a los angeles club called largo."

The Black Rose Phantoms, Copyrights, Kepi Ghoulie (of The Groovie Ghoulies), The Sweethearts, Shoplifters @ Knitting Factory

Jessie Baylin, who LAist's Michele Reverte interviewed last month, is holding her CD Release show tonight for her Firesight album at Hotel Cafe (listen below). Earlier today, she interviewed another Hotel Cafe mainstay, Greg Laswell.

Wow. What a week. From outdoor concerts at The Greek, Hollywood Bowl and The Getty to the first Sunset Strip Music Festival, this week is chock full of concerts to see. As always, if anything is missing, contribute it to the comments and we'll make sure to list it in the main section.

In the comments section of yesterday's post on changes at The Viper Room, concert goers are hoping for Indie 103.1's Check One... Two moves eastward while saying such things as "the Sunset Strip is dead." To that, owner of The Roxy, Nic Adler commented back: "True the strip has negelted it self over the last several years but we are well aware of that and are doing our best to bring it back to it legendary status. One show at a time, one show at a time." Crystal Castles plays the venue tonight and and an additional midnight show on Friday.

It's still a week away from the Airborne Toxic Event's Spaceland show and tickets are already sold out, they wrote in an e-mail annoucement. "Advance tickets for our show at Spaceland on Tuesday, June 17th are sold out. Spaceland is saving 100 tickets for sale at the doors which open at 8:30. We highly recommend you get there early if you'd like those. Also, Indie 103.1 will be giving away tickets on air. We'd love to see you there..." Less than six months ago, Airborne Toxic Event was just starting to get noticed as they played through their January residency at Spaceland, eventually gaining so much popularity throughout the month, the last show left hundreds of fans on the sidewalk.

As usual, there's a lot to go around this week. Anything missing in the upcoming days? Add it in the comments!

The insane madness that is Camp Freddy comes to an end tonight for their May residency at The Roxy. If you know nothing about the project, it's a loose conglomerate of old school rockers (Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Scott Weiland, etc) who put together jam sessions of sorts, and always with bigger name special guests. Tonight there are promises of big surprises and we can only take an educated guess based on mumblings that there will be appearances by Juliette Lewis and Billy Idol (and many more). Next month's Roxy residency will be Travis Barker and A.M.

Tonight, the Green Day side project heads down to Alex's Bar in Long Beach. The website says no lineups prior to 6:00 p.m. Good luck to all.

As mentioned yesterday, after a busy weekend of music festivals, this week has no shortage of bands to see. Flight of the Conchords, who play this weekend, usually draw huge buzz, but with Green Day's Foxboro Hot Tubs hitting town for their first tour, fans are lining the streets for exclusive only-buy-in-person tickets for tonight's show at The Roxy.

The stars must be aligned, this week is full of music goodness. Today may be a holiday, but that doesn't mean there is a sonic dry spell out there. And while Lightning in a Bottle has ended, two festivals still go on today: Jazz Reggae Festival at UCLA and Topanga Days up in Topanga. And you can't beat getting into the Viper Room for free by taking Metro, can you?

For most, it's a three-day weekend, chock full of good music, especially outdoors at Lightening in a Bottle outside Santa Barbara, Topanga Days in Topanga and the Jazz Reggae Festival at UCLA (more info can be found on yesterday's Tonight in Rock column). Complete listings for this weekend are below after the jump.

More music festivals are lining up the summer. Yesterday, the new Sunset Strip Music Festival and Sunset Junction were brought up. Today, let's talk Make Music Pasadena: A FĂȘte De La Muique Event on Saturday, June 21st. The festival is free with headliners split between four stages: The Raveonettes, Dengue Fever, Kinky, The Little Ones, Nortec Collective, Jesca Hoop, Division Day and Everest.

A good week in music, no doubt. Besides those mentioned in the headline, special attention should be paid to Eli "Paperboy" Reed & The True Loves, who plays tonight at Spaceland and at Amoeba Music tomorrow. If you like If you like Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings (review), then you'll love him. They'll be joining Mezzanine Owls at their weekly residency tonight. And since it's Monday, that means free. Rawk.

Tomorrow, a neighborhood group called We Love Long Beach is hosting a BBQ. Free food and kid stuff can easily beckon the locals, but it's also band friendly with the lies of Deep Sea Diver (photos of Jennifer Dobson of DSD in a post by Koga) Original Colonies and Tijuana Panthers (Saturday, 1-4pm, at Livingston Park in Belmont Shore.).

UPDATE #2: Via Mr. Free's Comment posted below: "ALRIGHT! THE SHOW HAS BEEN MOVED AGAIN FOR REAL... N. BROADWAY BETWEEN BISHOP & BERNARD"

Visiting from Minneapolis, the amazing orchestral-indie band, Cloud Cult of Minneapolis, will spread their magic tonight at the Knitting Factory. Complete with string instruments and two live painters, their tour is promotion of their latest album, "Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-partying Through Tornadoes)". From their MySpace: "Despite offers from major labels, Cloud Cult has chosen to remain independent, recording and releasing their albums through Earthology Records, a not-for-profit environmental record label... On a self-funded shoe-string budget they have achieved top 20 CMJ radio charting for all of their last three albums, a domain usually reserved for the SubPops and Merges of the world."

Talk about a full week of good music in Los Angeles...

There are only four shows left at Largo's Fairfax location before they officially open at the Coronet in June and table reservations are all booked. However, as usual with Largo, if you get in line early enough, they'll "get you in for drinks at the bar."

Death Cab For Cutie is playing tonight at Spaceland, but that early evening show is for KROQ winners and listeners only. But Spaceland will still hold a concert later tonight featuring Rocco DeLuca. Spaceland is also presenting the second night of Zooey Deschanel's She & Him at the Vista Theatre (sold out).

It's comedian Greg Proops last show at Largo on Fairfax and he's going out with a bang, Kiwi style. Flight of the Conchords are not listed on Largo's site, but a look at Proops' and there you have it (Jon Brion will also be there). According to Largo's voicemail update, all table reservations are booked, but for the first 25 who get their early (meaning you probably have to line up now), there will be room at the bar.

As requested and begged for, readers have asked for listings in this column to be more than just tonight, but this week. Have a cheer and drink, here's to the start of it.

When Tony Pierce began as editor of LAist in June of 2006, he brought in a new genius noon column called Tonight in Rock. It was needed, this town is most definitely a music town and you can't avoid it. If you have a favorite band, it's just a matter of when they'll be visiting next.
