Tonight English-born American singer-songwriter, actress, and former stand-up comedian Nellie McKay will be performing Doris Day's songbook at the Echoplex. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Dakota Live Music Lounge to catch local electro-infused indie rock duo boxViolet. LA-based alternative rockers the Useless Keys are slated to perform as well. more ›

Soviet-born pop folk singer-songwriter and pianist Regina Spektor is poised to perform to a sold-out crowd at the El Rey Theatre with local indie pop outfit Little Joy (LAist Review). And, lastly, local "fancy pop" songstress Obi Best (LAist Interview, Review, #2) will be gracing the Bootleg Theatre with none other than local singer-songwriter Willoughby. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch English rockers Band of Skulls, who will be ringing in their debut LP—2009's Baby Darling Doll Face Honey.
