It’s kinda quiet on the event front, a perfect day to reflect on Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. But if you're into going out tonight: CLASSICAL Southwest Chamber Music continues its Musical Imagination and Color series with a concert featuring 20th century composers, including Stravinsky, Milhaud, Berg, and Bartók. Violinist Lorenz Gamma, clarinetist Jim Foschia and pianist Ming Tsu are on the bill tonight. 8 // Colburn School Of Performing Arts: Across The Street......

As Christmas approaches, we get inundated with holiday themed programming (just look at last week's Classical Pick, sheesh). Fear not, though, not everything is annoyingly chock full of jingly tunes. The San Francisco based and Grammy nominated "orchestra of voices," Chanticleer, is visiting Los Angeles on Tuesday with traditional Christmas songs from Gregorian Chant to Gospel, including selections from their newly-released holiday CD, “Let It Snow”. On August 28th at 2:58AM PDT, just as the moon disappeared from the shadow of the earth, David Paul Addis fired a flare at The Man resulting in a premature burning of the festival's icon. Addis claims that he is the sole surviving member of the satirical group, Black Rock Intelligence, or "the CIA of Burning Man". Addis plans to......

After the game, Elton Brand observed that the loosing Michael Redd significantly decreased the Buck's outside shooting, allowing the Clipper's defense to play closer in. Brand had a game high 25. Since the result......

There's a movement afoot: social networkers are committing MySpace-icide and are finding loquacity at Yelp.com. They are yelping, rather reviewing, restaurants, spas and even freeway interchanges. The San Francisco-based company has gone as far as giving certain members a coveted elite status. And that's where we crossed paths. A couple weeks ago, we went to a Los Angeles Yelp.com elite party in Hollywood at Tiny's K.O. to steal/recruit writers for LAist meet and greet......

Well at least the weather was good. The Dodgers, as well as Major League Baseball celebrated Jackie Robinson Day Saturday April 15th. The Blue Crew looked to improve their record against arch rival San Francisco Giants but found themselves falling short and wondering what happened. It was an eventful and dare we say, entertaining series if not a successful one. The Dodgers dropped 2 of 3 to the Giants and fell below .500 (6-7)......
