With the release of their third album, "Arrows," there are 12 new reasons to explore the sonic landscape of The Lonely Forest. This Pacific Northwest-based band will be Death Cab for Cutie's opener at the El Rey tonight. LAist caught up with guitarist Tony Ruland last weekend to get the scoop on the new album and the band's adventures on the Oregon Trail.

Tonight In Rock: Blonde Redhead, Legendary Pink Dots, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Oh No Oh My
Tonight New York-based indie rock trio Blonde Redhead will be headlining the Music Box at the Henry Fonda Theater, ringing in their eighth studio album, 2010's Penny Sparkle, with Icelandic songstress Olöf Arnalds in tow. Springfield's own indie pop act Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, who are touring in support of their 2010's Let It Sway, are poised to grace Spaceland with none other than Washington-based indie rock act the Lonely Forest. And, lastly, legendary London-bred experimental rock outfit the Legendary Pink Dots will be gracing the Echo, ringing in their 27th full-length to date—2010's Seconds Late For The Brighton Line. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Bootleg Theater to catch Austin-bred indie rock quartet Oh No Oh My, who are touring in support of their yet-to-be-released sophomore record, 2011's People Problems. LAist favorites, Cincinnati-based indie rockers Pomegranates and local act Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits are slated to kick things off.
Tonight In Rock: The Decemberists, Brazilian Girls, La Roux, Emily Wells
Tonight New York City-based electro pop masterminds Brazilian Girls (LAist Interview) will be headlining the Avalon. London-based electro-pop duo La Roux (LAist Review) are poised to take on the El Rey Theatre. And, lastly, local classical-violinist-turned-singer-songwriter Emily Wells will be gracing the Echo with none other than Washington-based indie rock act the Lonely Forest. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into UCLA's Royce Hall to catch Portland-based indie rockers the Decemberists.
You can find these listings as well as the rest of the week's in our weekly Week In Rock post, which goes up every Sunday.
Tonight In Rock: Sébastien Tellier, Amazing Baby, Sara Watkins, The Lonely Forest
Tonight Brooklyn-bred rock outfit Amazing Baby will be headlining the Troubadour with none other than local psych-infused rockers the Entrance Band and Night Horse. Former Nickel Creek fiddler Sara Watkins (LAist Interview), among many other virtuosos, is poised to grace the Grammy Museum in Downtown. And, lastly, Washington-based indie rock act the Lonely Forest will be taking on Spaceland for this week's edition of Club NME. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Henry Fonda Music Box to catch the first night of the three-day French music festival known as Ooh La La. LAist favorites Sébastien Tellier (LAist Review) and Gonzales are slated to perform.
