Only in Las Vegas could a venue that opened its doors in 1995 be considered "historic." On February 7th, The Joint, the "historic" music venue located inside Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will close it's doors to make way for a brand new expanded and state-of-the-art Joint. Motley Crue will do the honor of shutting The Joint down with concerts on February 6th and 7th. The new Joint; which according the press release, will be "twice the size, feature an innovative sound and lighting system, and offer seven premiere VIP hospitality suites" is scheduled to open in April. Tickets for the finale with the Crue are on sale now.

Bob Saget will perform at 4th & B in San Diego on March 7, The Grove of Anaheim on March 8 and The Joint at The Hard Rock in Vegas on March 21 as part of his national theater tour and we're lucky to have another chance at him.

Be joyful with the electro-pop sounds of Hey Willpower (Will from Imperial Teen and Tomo from Tussle) at The Echo or get a more worldly groove on at the Temple Bar. Jackshit, who we interviewed once, plays tonight and there are two in-store performances as well: one at Amoeba (of course) and the other at Active Ride Show. There's a few sold out shows, but you deserve to know if you're hardcore enough to try to get in and The Airborne Toxic Event released a new song yesterday (embedded below).

Common - "The People" "The People" was one of our most-played summer jamz. It was on Kanye's "Can't Tell Me Nothin" sampler because Kanye produced it and listen to how sweet it is. It's the sort of non-thug, uplifting, positive hip-hop that people once talked about, but now people are buying. This is the direction BEP could have gone if they hadn't chosen the path of the lowest common denominator aka the Gwen Stefani...

While we're heading over to Granada Hills Charter School to see a teenager that we love perform as the lead in a high school production of Up the Down Staircase tonight, you can go dancing. If you're an Aries, maybe you want to go to Zodiac, a monthly birthday dance party at The Larchmont. Azul (who is an Aquarius) and the gang spin some funky rhythms for you inside while the real party might be Hip Hop Karaoke on the patio. If we weren't already booked, you might've found us out there doing our best Ice Cube impersonations. Other dance spots tonight: Elephonic does a live set at The Joint and DJ Halo takes over The Conga Room.
