Tonight iconic folk rock singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be closing out a three-night stint at the Hollywood Palladium. Baltimore's crown jewel, electronic mastermind Dan Deacon (LAist Review) is poised to headline the Echo. And, lastly, South African experimental rockers BLK JKS, who have been heralded as the TV on the Radio of their hemisphere (and rightfully so), will be gracing Spaceland with none other than Costa Mesa-based psych rockers the Growlers in tow. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre to win a chance to see Oklahoma-bred psychedelic rock outfit the Flaming Lips.

Tonight English indie rockers Gomez will be headlining the Wiltern with Portland's own indie pop outfit Blind Pilot in tow. Costa Mesa-based psych rockers the Growlers are poised to kick off a month-long residency at the Echo. And, lastly, New Zealand-based singer-songwriter and Stellar* front woman Boh Runga will be gracing Largo at the Coronet. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch the first night of LAist favorites Local Natives' (LAist Interview) month-long residency. We Barbarians, the Union Line and the Outline will all be performing as well, with Justin Gage of Aquarium Drunkard on the decks in between bands. Yours truly will be DJing the final night of the aforementioned residency, August 31st.

Tonight psych folk act Pocahaunted (LAist Review) will be headlining the Smell in Downtown. Costa Mesa-based garage rockers the Growlers will be supporting Japanese Motors on the third night of their month-long residency at Spaceland. And, lastly, local indie rock outfit Last American Buffalo are poised to grace the Silver Lake Lounge with Spirit Vine and the Steelwells in tow. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch NY's own indie rockers Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. San Franciscan lo-fi rock outfit Girls will be kicking things off.

Tonight Baltimore-based psych rockers Animal Collective will be making up for last month's canceled show at the Henry Fonda Music Box. Hometown noise rock heroes HEALTH are finally back in town, rocking out at the Echo. And, lastly, San Diegan instrumentalists Tristeza will be playing at Bordello with OC's own garage rockers the Growlers. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch Mississippi-bred ukulele maestro Dent May (LAist Interview). The New Pornographers' front man AC Newman is poised to headline.

Tonight Grammy-nominated pop singer Katy Perry (LAist Review, #2) will be performing to a sold-out crowd at the Wiltern. Legendary Compton-bred rapper/producer DJ Quik is slated to headline the Keyclub. San Diegan indie rockers the Black Heart Procession will be rocking out at the Echo with the Mumlers and Warpaint in tow. And, lastly, if you're willing to brave the depths of Santa Ana, then head on over to the Underground to catch Philly's best psych rock outfit Dr. Dog. OC garage-rockers the Growlers, who will be ringing in their latest volume of tunes, are poised to kick off the show. (Canceled!) But we insist that you spend the evening with local singer-songwriter Kenneth Pattengale and the Found Object Orchestra at El Cid. Mr. Pattengale recently released his six full-length effort and his first for Milan Records, Storied Places, exhibiting a jolt of folksy wisdom well beyond his years

Tonight Australian singer-songwriter Ben Lee will be performing at Largo at the Coronet's Little Room. The Roxy is playing host to a slew of DFA artists, including Portland-based one-man band Yacht, the Juan Maclean, Tim Sweeney and Tim Goldsworthy. LA-based singer-songwriter Meiko (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4, #5) will be playing at the Hotel Café for the second night in a row with LAist favorite Obi Best (LAist Interview, Review, #2) slated to open. On the early side of things, Scottish rockers Glasvegas are poised to take over Amoeba Records. And, lastly, LA-based psych rock outfit the Entrance Band will be headlining the Troubadour with Indian Jewelry and the Growlers in tow. But we insist that you head over to the Largo at the Coronet to catch LA's most beautiful and forlorn figure Fiona Apple.

Tonight the Echo will be hosting its usual Part Time Punks extravaganza with Rainbow Arabia headlining the bill. OC garage-rockers the Growlers are slated to perform at the rather posh Cinespace. And, lastly, English psych-pop outfit Yeti will be rocking the Viper Room. But we strongly recommend heading over to the Smell, where Highland Park's own indie rockers Bodies of Water are purportedly playing their last show for a while.

Happy Halloween! Tonight there are tons of concerts across the Greater Los Angeles Area. We were looking forward to the Little Radio extravaganza in the outskirts of Downtown. Unfortunately, "the titanic team-up that had to happen" simply floundered. But, thankfully, that isn't stopping the Henry Clay People. They will be performing tonight at the Cat and Fiddle Pub in Hollweird with Long Beach-based rockers the Tall Hands. The monolithic Parisian electro duo Justice will be headlining a line-up at the Shrine Auditorium that is sure to sate anyone who's craving a dance party—including sets from Daedelus, Soulwax, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Crookers and Simian Mobile Disco, among many others. The Secret Machines are the special guests of a psych-induced bill over at Spaceland, which features LA locals the Entrance Band and Dead Meadow's own Jason Simon. And NY-based shoegazer Asobi Seksu will be putting onlookers at the Echo in a heavily distorted trance. It was exactly two years ago to date that Spaceland Recordings released Live at the Echo 10/6/06. We can't rule out the possibility of another recording. So we certainly suggest heading over to commemorate the release and potentially partake in history again. But we're embarking on a rowdy adventure an hour southward! Say what? The Growlers, who recently won Best Rock Band in the OC Weekly's annual Best Of List, and Austin-by-way-of-Dallas the Strange Boys (LAist Review) will be unleashing retro 60s, garage-style blues-rock at the Womens Club in Laguna Beach. We know it's a hell of a drive, but it'll be the most rollicking Halloween experience of your life.
