Every year that we come to SXSW we fall in love with a band that was completely off our radar and surprises us with their cuteness and charm. Last year it was The Go! Team and The Grates, this year it the all-girl high school ska band from Japan, Oreskaband who are so good and infectious that we immediately ran to the back of the Elysium and bought their cd.

#4, The Go! Team

Because you really can't get too much of a good thing, the good people of Goldenvoice announced last night that this year's hugely successful Coachella music and arts festival will grow to a three-day-and-night affair on the sprawling polo fields in Indio outside Palm Springs. The Miracle Mile concert promoters also announced that the weekend after Coachella they will throw a two-day country festival that will include stages for alt-country, bluegrass, and even storytelling....

Born in LA, Belinda has posed for Playboy, played drums with the Germs, and fronted the first all-girl rock band to have a #1 hit.

We have many fond memories from Coachellas past, but right now we're totally jealous of that Lollapalooza lineup. Sunday tickets are sold out. You'll either have to buy a two-day pass or take your chances in the secondary market.

It should be established that when it comes to the next hot ish (yes, you can still say 'ish' in 2006), URB is not to be doubted. The local mag was up on M.I.A., Bloc Party, The Go! Team, Feist, Dears and Arcade Fire long before they were the top tracks on your last.fm charts. Well, tonight, they are celebrating the future of music with not one but two parties.

After their recent gig at the El Rey, LAist tracked down the band and got an inside track on what made The Go! Team tick.
