Tonight Hüsker Dü front man, NY-based singer-songwriter Bob Mould will be headlining the Bootleg Theater with none other than LA-based indie rock troubadours Nico Stai. Local folk rock outfit Tommy Santee Klaws are poised to perform at HM 157 in support of their brand-new album, 2010's Rakes. And, lastly, pop rock songstress Lelia Broussard will be gracing the Hotel Café in support of her latest record, Masquerade. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch Liverpool-bred post-punk act Clinic, who are touring in support of their sixth album—2010's Bubblegum. LAist favorites, San Franciscan psych-infused rock outfit the Fresh & Onlys are slated to kick things off.
Tonight In Rock: Bob Mould, Clinic, Tommy Santee Klaws, Lelia Broussard
Tonight In Rock: A Sunny Day In Glasgow, Smith Westerns, The Fresh & Onlys, Extra Life
Tonight the City of Brotherly Love's own dream pop sextet A Sunny Day in Glasgow will be headlining the Mint with none other than local act Pollyn in tow. Prolific San Franciscan psych-infused rock outfit the Fresh & Onlys are poised to take over Spaceland. Extra Life, a Brooklyn-bred experimental rock act who bear loose associations with the Dirty Projectors, will be performing down the street at Echo Curio. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo early this afternoon to catch Chicago-bred garage rock outfit Smith Westerns (LAist Review). LAist favorites, local "retro-leaning" pop rock quintet the Young Veins, which of course features not one, but two former members of Panic! At The Disco, are slated to kick things off.
Tonight In Rock: Hope Sandoval, Jay Farrar & Benjamin Gibbard, Those Darlins, Thee Oh Sees
Tonight Mazzy Star front woman Hope Sandoval will be headlining the Mayan Theatre in Downtown. St. Louis-based singer-songwriter Jay Farrar, a veteran of not one, but two critically-acclaimed outfits—Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt—and Washington-bred indie rock god Benjamin Gibbard, who presumably needs no introduction, will be translating Jack Kerouac's prose into song and verse (?!) at Largo at the Coronet. And, lastly, Tennessee-based country/rockabilly trio Those Darlins are poised to grace the Silver Lake Lounge with none other than the exemplary Australian indie rock act known as the Grates. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch San Franciscan experimental garage rockers Thee Oh Sees. Equally prolific San Francisco-based pysch-infused pop outfit the Fresh & Onlys are slated to kick things off.
