Tonight New Zealand-bred electro pop singer-songwriter Ladyhawke is poised to grace the Avalon with Seattle's own electro pop sensation Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. NY/LA-based folk troubadours Elvis Perkins in Dearland (LAist Interview) are poised to headline the Troubadour with North Dakota-based singer-songwriter Tom Brosseau and Echo Park-bred folk pop act Correatown in tow. And, lastly, local indie rockers You Me & Iowa will be gracing Spaceland with Radars to the Sky. But we strongly suggest heading over to Eagle Rock to catch forty some-odd—including No Age (LAist Review, #2), The Happy Hollows, Peanut Butter Wolf, Nico Stai, The French Semester, Amateurs, Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, Blank Blue, Pocahaunted, Bobb Bruno, The Gaslamp Killer, Julia Holter, Jail Weddings, Free Moral Agents, Fol Chen (Canceled!) and Leslie and the Badgers, among many, many others. Head on over to the Verdugo Bar in neighboring Glassell Park for one of many promising after-parties!

Tonight Hasidic Jewish reggae musician Matisyahu will be headlining the Wiltern. English/German indie rockers Art Brut are poised to kick off a three night stint at Spaceland with Swedish electro pop outfit Miike Snow in tow. And, lastly, actor/filmmaker Adam Goldberg's musical endeavor LANDy will be performing at the Echo with local indie rockers the French Semester. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the El Rey Theatre to catch Bat For Lashes, the pseudonym of Brighton-based singer-songwriter Natasha Khan. Local experimental electronic act Hecuba are slated to kick things off.

Tonight Radio Free Silver Lake will be presenting a CD release party at Boardner's for not one, but two great local bands. Tigers Can Bite You and Light FM will be celebrating and the French Semester will be opening. Whispertown 2000 (LAist Review) will be playing at Amoeba early on. And, lastly, Mike Watt We wouldn't usually recommend going to see Conor Oberst at the Henry Fonda Music Box, but LA-based folk rockers the Like will be opening. And we must admit that this band of ladies is a rather prepossessing sight.
