Last Tuesday, LA-Underground co-presented a show with KCRW at the Bootleg Theater, featuring Kentucky-based Daniel Martin Moore as well as beloved locals Eleni Mandell, Inara George (The Bird and the Bee), and Ferraby Lionheart.

We're continuing to hear that the restaurant/bar/music concert space that is Tangier in Los Feliz is having some financial troubles and may be going out of business. Whether that is true or not, what we do know is that it is currently in escrow and if that goes through, it remains to be seen what the news owners do with the place.
Nick Adler of the Roxy may have been one of first local music venues to venture out into the Twitterverse, but others are quickly following suit. One of them is Scott Sterling, promoter of The Fold in Silver Lake that books shows at the Silverlake Lounge, Tangier, Redwood, El Cid and Bordello.
Now that the rain has gone away, Spaceland on Ice can continue this week with The Chapin Sisters and their folk/pop.
Two of LAist's favorite bands are playing tonight. The (still) best unsigned LA band in LA, the Mere Mortals. And the happiest/saddest tunes ever from a married couple since the Carpenters, The Submarines.

The cool thing about that Atomica Magazine Enter the Dragon party wasn't just that they did actually play Enter the Dragon on the screen or the odd dancer on the 2nd floor dressed in a prom dress and seemingly only aware of her own shadow or the really cute couple that came out of nowhere and danced hip to hip to Janet Jackson's very sexy "That's the Way Love Goes" with huge smiles on their faces. No, the coolest part was that we were directly behind the "CHINATOWNLAND" sign in the Chinatown plaza, an area of the city that we don't visit nearly enough.

At the Hammer Museum show up at 7:00 PM to see In the Realms of the Unreal, filmmaker Jessica Yu's 2004 documentary on outsider artists Henry Darger. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and Ms Yu will be on hand after the film for a Q&A session.
Because it is October and Halloween is the greatest holiday, LAist is kicking off this month's festivities with a movie that we're pretty sure sets the tone for Shocktober in Los Angeles.
