Tonight In Rock: Fountains of Wayne, Metronomy, Army Navy, The Ettes

Tonight LAist's favorite English electro-pop outfit Metronomy (LAist Review) will be headlining the El Rey Theatre with local experimental rockers the Mae Shi (LAist Interview, Review, #2) in tow. LA-based garage rockers the Ettes are coming through Spaceland with the Useless Keys for this week's edition of Club NME. Local indie rockers Army Navy (LAist Interview, #2, Review) will be rocking out for Obama at the Rock the Vote's Inaugural Bash at the Troubadour. And, lastly, Seattle-based experimental electronic quartet Truckasauras are making their LA debut at Boardner's. But we suggest you head over to Largo at the Coronet to catch Northampton-bred power pop act Fountains of Wayne (LAist Interview).

And thanks to Red Peters and the fact that he can't be fined, Howard Stern has been playing one of Coe's classics "Fuckin in the Butt". Beneficiary of an opening spot from a recent Kid Rock tour, DAC is showing a new...

The Pogues were so bad last night at the Wiltern that we left early and can't really recommend them tonight, but we will list them because, we'll they're the Pogues. The problem was Shane was so drunk/fucked-up/brain damaged that it was sad. LAist are HUGE Pogues fans. Over the last three days we've listed them three times and posted two different videos. Which is what made last night's show so heartbreaking. It was like watching Ozzy on that MTV show when he was at his lowest. See anything else.

They're dreamy they're psychedelic and they're heavy. They're Darker My Love and they've been holding court at Spaceland these Monday nights, for free, for your collective asses. Here's what we wish. You know how they have all these festivals and everything has a theme? You don't even need a festival for this, but we'd love to see one with Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Black Crowes, Wolfmother and Darker My Love, because this band just makes you want to light one up and drift off into the jamz.
