Our society can now be characterized with the phrase TMI (too much information), according the Daily Breeze. Facebook, status updates, Twitter, and other social media sites all share a part in this trend toward “oversharing” and privacy disregard. more ›

Angels Ace Sent Down To AAA

Angels Ace Sent Down To AAA

John Klima of The Daily Breeze today said it all:

They sent Jered Weaver, the rookie right-hander who won all four of his decisions and posted a 1.37 ERA, helping to stabilize the pitching staff of the last-place team in the AL West, to triple-A Salt Lake.
LAist wonders, why wasn't it brother Jeff Weaver, with his sorry-ass 3-9 record and who gave up a team-leading 17 home runs. Dudes it was JEFF Weaver who's ERA is a bloated and unnacceptable 6.02, which is only overshadowed by the obscenely high $8.5 million that the Angels paid for this perennially overrated pitcher. more ›

Turns out they aren't monarchs at all. The Daily Breeze reports that the insects are actually painted lady butterflies and are flying from Northern Mexico to the Pacific Northwest. The reason for the abundance? Our record setting rainfall. more ›

The Morning's Stories: McMurder Was The Case

Nearly a year after police shot and killed a driver who was backing his car into a patrol vehicle, a similar incident took place over the weekend. This time, the driver was a 13 year old boy. The Los Angeles Times gives a detailed account from the police about what happened but the most interesting part of the piece is the fact that Chief Bratton had called for changes to policy regarding use of deadly force in exactly these kinds of situations but that those changes have yet to be approved. more ›
