Clipper Weekly has returned from its nearly month-long hiatus after taking its own road trip – fortunately, the road was much more hospitable to the CW than it has been to the Clippers.

Clippers 105, Grizzlies 90 - The Clips have yet to win on the road, but a home victory over Memphis pushed their record to 7-7 and snapped a five game skid, much to Mike Miller's dismay (left). The Clipper's record would be good enough for first place in the Atlantic Division. Too bad they don't play anywhere in the East.

Maybe there is something to this Laker/Clipper rivalry thing after all. Didn’t used to be that way, a few years ago Laker players and fans were more worried about Duncan in San Antonio or cowbells in Sacramento or if Lara Flynn was still sitting with Jack. The Clippers weren’t even on the radar.

Last night's game was so entertaining, we're almost not upset that the Red & Blue lost. 130-123?! Is this 2006 or 1986? The Steve Nash/Sam Cassell battle is going to be a great one and the flashes of brilliance that Shaun Livingston shows on the court has us extremely hopeful for the future. The Clippers held up their end of the bargain tonight, dispatching the Denver Nuggets 101-83 for thier first post-season seiries win. LAist says its their first because lets face it, that wasnt the Clippers 30 years ago, that was the Buffalo Braves. Not the same. Nevertheless, this is a huge accomplishment for a team, a franchise, that has searched for respect. They also make it possible for Los Angeles to have two teams meet in the post season for the first time in any major sport.

Yes, the Lakers (45-37). The Ol' Zen Master did a great coaching job this season. Having the offense run through the best player in the league and FINALLY getting the potential out of Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown, especially down the stretch. Along the way to wrapping up the 7th seed, Kobe grabbed the scoring title with the highest scoring average (over 35 a game) in 19 years... 19!!! And lets face it, the Lakers needed every point. They will square off against the Phoenix Suns (54-28) who know how to put up some points of their own. They own one of the highest TEAM scoring averages in the league and have a player (and MVP candidate) in Steve Nash that makes EVERY man on the floor dangerous. Yeah this is a tough draw for the Lakers but they do have a fighting chance. Especially with Kobe in our corner. We will see how that goes down starting Sunday.
