Though my allegiance has switched over to the Landmark, many film lovers in Los Angeles regard the Arclight as the best multiplex in town. It programs studio pictures right alongside esoteric indies, it offers great concessions, its screenings are commercial-free and it schedules cool events with celebrated films and filmmakers. This Wednesday, tickets go on sale for one of those very events. In fact, this one may be the coolest in awhile. To celebrate...

That film the Beastie Boys adoringly spoofed for this video is the campy 1968 Euro spy movie Danger Diabolik, and it's playing at The New Beverly tonight and tomorrow. Danger Diabolik - If being a super villain really was all about dashing around the globe in the coolest mod clothes and sleekest sports cars while staging elaborate jewel heists before returning to your posh, super-secret lair to shag your blonde accomplice, this movie is...

Vanessa Grigoriadis is a fearless and whip-smart journalist whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone, New York and Radar magazines. So, you know how we regularly interview interesting people in Los Angeles and ask them about their experiences living in our city as well as about whatever it is that makes them interesting folk? Well, we want more of that. Here's the deal: If you know cool people and like to chat with them you should talk to them about Los Angeles a bit, write it up and send it to us here. We'll check them out and run all the ones we like on the site the second week of December and then select one or two people to join our interview staff.

You either love or hate Sarah Silverman. Well, LAist, at the very least, loves her shtick. We're not sure if her comedy warrants the comparisons to Lenny Bruce that she sometimes gets but it is very true that her brand of funny matters. Her first concert film has already won tons of festival awards and is set to wow audiences this week. "Jesus Is Magic" is here! We want to send you to the LA Premiere this Thursday at The Arclight and give you a signed copy of the movie poster.
