Due to family illness, It has not been the greatest year and a half for me. So, anyone who is going through some hard times this holiday, I feel your pain. Still, it's Thanksgiving Day and much like a starving pilgrim at a potlatch, I know I should be thankful rather than angst ridden--at least for one day!

My folks are Republicans. I am not. On a recent visit from the East Coast, they wanted to go to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. I kinda didn't. But since they were only in town for a few days -- to see me and I wanted to spend time with them -- I put our political differences aside and drove them out to Simi Valley (via the 118 -- the Ronald Regan...

We're thankful for so many things. Really. The only thing we had cause for regret rather than thanks this weekend was the fact that we missed seeing Alice Cooper run into our neighborhood grocery store for some spare cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving Day. Man, that would have been so cool.

The temperature where we are was as high as 81 degrees today. It might be even hotter if you're in inland or in the Valley. Five day forecast? Thank goodness it looks like it might cool off a little for Thanksgiving Day, down to the mid...70s.
