Two Killed in East Hollywood T-Shirt Store Shooting
A shooting inside a store in the East Hollywood area has left two people dead, according to police. At about 12:40 p.m., the LAPD was called to a t-shirt store on the 5400 block of Sunset Boulevard. Inside, two men were found with fatal gunshot wounds. Officer Cleon Joseph described it as a "possible murder-suicide." Few details were available this afternoon as the investigation was ongoing.
All Lanes of Sunset Blvd. Closed After Head-On Crash
Traffic came to a halt on Sunset Boulevard this afternoon after a head-on crash prompted authorities to close all lanes. Shortly after 4 p.m., a UCLA police unit responded to a crash on the busy artery between Veteran and Bellagio, finding multiple victims trapped. "All lanes of Sunset Boulevard closed by head-on crash. Avoid this afternoon if possible," warned UCLA's Newsroom on Twitter. The road is closed for about 3/4ths of a mile between Veteran and Westwood Plaza. The LAFD responded to the scene and transported at least one person to a local hospital.

There's a good number of late-night eating options in the Los Angeles area, but there's definitely room for more. Starting tonight, Chin Chin in West Hollywood is looking to help fill that gap with Thursday through Saturday late-night service 'til 3:30 a.m. (they're also adding health-concious new menu items like Honey Walnut Shrimp and Salt and Pepper Tofu). Family of Ducks Halt Traffic on the 405 Freeway
A family of ducks attemping to cross the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway caused some traffic around Sunset Boulevard. Based on caller logs, here's what happened. At 8:27 a.m., a caller notified the California Highway Patrol of the family on the right side of the freeway. Three minutes later, someone tried to slow down traffic by using their hazard lights as the carpool lane came to a complete standstill.

Mystery Surrounds Woman Shot in the Head at Sunset/Kinglsey
A woman who was sitting at a bus stop on Sunset Boulevard during the afternoon of March 11 died when she was shot in the head. At first, it appeared she had collapsed for no reason, but doctors at a local hospital found a bullet wound in her head, reports LA Weekly. "Apparently no one, including the boyfriend, heard a gunshot," noted the paper. "Police say the couple recently became homeless." The incident took place at the corner of North Kingsley Drive around 1:20 p.m.

In an effort to revitalize West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, Monday will see the beginning of a new boulevard in the form of street resurfacing project that will also bring more pedestrian friendly sidewalks, flowers and trees. It will mark the first time since the famous artery has been repaved since 1930. “There’s probably chewing gum spit out by Jim Morrison in front of the Whisky a Go-Go,” West Hollywood Councilman John Duran told the LA Times. “Don’t tell anybody or they’ll want to go pick it up.”
