Body of Missing SDSU Student Found in Madrid River
The body of 22-year-old Austin Taylor Bice, a NorCal-born and Carlsbad resident studying international business at San Diego State University, has been found in a river in Madrid, Spain, according to the LA Times. Bice had been in Spain since mid-January, and had been missing since February 26th.
Charo to Lead PETA Rally Against Bullfighting on Olvera Street
Vivacious entertainer Charo will be the star attraction at a rally to be held tomorrow at noon on historic Olvera Street. The Spanish native will be there on behalf of PETA on the eve of Mexico's highly promoted bullfighting festival to raise awareness about the perils of bullfighting, and to air her new anti-bullfighting PETA video. Charo was raised going to bullfights with her father, however she has come to see how the entertainment is actually cruelty. "This animal doesn't need to be punished, just to entertain yourself and sacrifice this beautiful animal," says Charo. "Just to spend 45 minutes enjoying the death of a living thing is barbaric and has to go."

Former UCLA standout Carlos Bocanegra captained a U.S. Men's National Team that on Wednesday evening (South Africa time), defeated the number #1 ranked Spanish team by a score of 2 - 0. The victory earned the U.S. team its first ever finals berth in a FIFA sanctioned competition and also ended the impressive 35 game undefeated streak the Furia Roja had amassed over the last couple of years, which included last year's prestigious European Championship.
LA, OC Still Swine Flu-Free, Residents Urged to Take Precautions
As of yesterday morning, only 20 cases of Swine Flu have been reported in the US, with 7 of those cases in California. However, there have been no cases logged in either Los Angeles or Orange counties, and local officials want to get the word out that they are working to prevent the infection from spreading.
