The Space 15 Twenty weekly flea market is getting a unique spin this Sunday, thanks to the cooking duo Hot Knives and a celebration of their cookbook "Salad Daze." Vegetarian chefs Evan George and Alex Brown are bringing together a tasty hodgepodge of their Eastsider pals to sell wares and entertain.

LAist Film Calendar 05/26-05/29: Outdoor Screenings All Memorial Day Weekend!
It hasn't felt much like summer lately, but there's something about Memorial Day: time to enjoy some screenings under the stars! The 2011 season of Outdoor Cinema Food Fest begins Saturday at LA State Historic Park with the Farrelly Brothers classic There's Something About Mary. The all-evening event also features a shorts program from Funny or Die, a live performance from Glen Iris & food trucks galore! Tickets are $10. BYOB - bring your own blanket.
Tonight In Rock: Castanets, War Tapes, Devon Williams, The Yummy Fur
Tonight Portland-by-way-of-San Diego Psych-infused folk outfit Castanets will be headlining the Bootleg Theater. Local rockers War Tapes are poised to take on the Dakota Live Music Lounge in Santa Monica with none other than Long Beach's own post-punk outfit Repeater and psych rock act Deep Sleep Ops. And, lastly, long-disbanded, acclaimed Glasgow-bred indie rock quartet the Yummy Furs will be gracing the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to Space 15 Twenty to partake in "Miracle: An Afternoon Acoustic Celebration." LAist favorites, local indie rock singer-songwriter Devon Williams, Lavender Diamond front woman Becky Stark and LA-based folk singer-songwriter Elvis Perkins—among many, many others of course—are all slated to perform as a part of the Mountains and Flowers, an exhibition by artist Susan Cianciolo.
LAist Goes Shopping: Where the Wild Things Are Pops Up at Space 15 Twenty
Monsters from "Where the Wild Things Are" are popping up everywhere. Cool Hunting compiled an impressive list of tie-ins, merchandise, and projects associated with the premiere of this Spike Jonze directed film. Images inspired by the movie are found in costumes, apparel, Kubrick toys, limited edition skateboards, and a whimsical pop-up shop at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood. We headed over to the pop-up shop to see the installation, Urban Outfitters accessories, clothing, and other monster merch. Max's room is the ultimate kids' fort covered in a tapestry of blankets. The wild things world is created out of a twig cave forest and a hollowed out tree trunk filled with pillows. Christian Joy's created exclusive costumes will be donated to 826 National programs.
