Explosions in the Sky might make you swoon but when it comes to real fireworks these songs got the gusto. And by that I mean they really like the word "boom." Stay safe with them those there fireworks and don't fall for the old hold-this-roman-candle-I-just-quick-have-to-send-a-text maneuver. Happy 4th of July!! more ›

It's Raining Videos: 10 Songs About Stormy Weather

"It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring..." Wake him up, and wake yourself up, with these videos--mostly of the cheesy flashback variety--where rain reigns as motif supreme...and leads to lusting, contemplating, navel-gazing, and, thankfully, dancing. Ready or Not, KOST Says It's Time to Jingle Bell Rock!

Before the Halloween candy bins are even broken down, retailers start to set up the Christmas trees and trimmings in their fluorescent-lit aisles. Yesterday, one more sign of the impending holiday blitz, and our society's possible insanity: KOST-FM has gone to their all-holiday music programming already. Franklin Avenue caught the flip: "The switch happened on Thursday mid-morning, with Barry Manilow's "White Christmas," which is apparently a station tradition. (Why? I dunno.)" Ready or not, it's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Any early picks for what song in KOST's holiday rotation you'll grow tired of the fastest? Or which holiday song never fails to give you the warm fuzzies? more ›

Will Coldplay Get Served at the Grammys?

Will Coldplay Get Served at the Grammys?

Coldplay will be in town this weekend and are scheduled to perform live at the Grammys, Sunday night at Staples Center. But the Brit band might get hit with something besides a round of applause. Guitarist Joe Satriani, who believes the band lifted the melody of their mega-hit (aka overplayed snoozefest) "Viva la Vida" from his nowhere-near-a-hit "If I Could Fly," is prepped to serve them with legal papers, and has a team willing to trail the boys in the band around all weekend because "the Grammys are the easiest forum at which to strike while the iron is hot," reports Fox News. Apparently Coldplay has dodged the servers, so Satriani's legal eagles want to pounce--ideally when the cameras are rolling, giving viewers one reason to tune in to another televised entertainment industry circle jerk.
