Tonight In Rock: Snow Patrol, Grizzly Bear, Noah & The Whale, Why?

Tonight Scottish alternative rock outfit Snow Patrol will be headlining the Wiltern with Chicago-based pop rock act Plain White T's. Brooklyn-based indie rockers Grizzly Bear are poised to take on the Hollywood Palladium with none other than Baltimore's lugubrious duo Beach House in tow. And, lastly, Cincinnati-bred experimental hip-hop/indie rock trio Why? will be taking on the Echoplex. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Roxy to catch English folk rockers Noah and the Whale. LA-based singer-songwriter Robert Francis (LAist Interview, Review) is slated to kick things off.

Editors played a sold out show at The Wiltern along with Hot Hot Heat and Louis XIV on February 9, 2008.

If you have watched any primetime television or new release movies you have most likely heard the bombastic sounds of Snow Patrol. In the past year alone the Scottish group has been featured in more than ten films and television shows; their single "Chasing Cars" was featured on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy not once, not twice, but three times. They are also Zach Braff-approved, with songs on both Garden State and The Last Kiss.

Beirut Gulag Orkestar (Bada Bing) – Beirut is a 19 year-old kid from Albuquerque who has the full attention of the blogosphere and other tastemakers. He worked with Jeremy Barnes from Neutral Milk Hotel so the comparisons to that band are prevalent but ultimately unfair. There aren’t any guitars on the record but there are glockenspiels, ukuleles and clarinets. Download “from Italy

We can't tell you anything about the new xbox 360 that made its debut for the first time at the shoot for the MTV special that will air next week other than that, fanboys, you need to turn it upright. It stands, baby. We were asked not to scoop the show, though, so we're not going to but we can tell you what to expect.

Coachella in 2005 was all about more. More bands. More signs. More mist. More shade. More cool breezes. More old people. More kids. More art. More more more.

Every year, we say we're not going to battle the heat and the crowds and the traffic on the 10 to spend a weekend at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio; and, every year, Coachella puts together a list of acts that we'd kick ourselves if we missed.

Aside from the Vice Presidential debates, there are some events going on around town. If you decide to go out rather than remain home, glued to the TV as Cheney and Edwards duke it out, you can always catch the highlights on the radio while on your way to one of these fine events.
