New Late-Night Shuttle Service Will Connect USC and L.A. Live

In an attempt to attract the thousands of USC students ready to spend money in downtown, AEG is funding a free weekend shuttle between the campus and the entertainment complex.

LADOT & Downtown DASH Now on Twitter

Has the world gone topsy turvy? The city's Department of Transportation is finally using Twitter for real-time updates to their DASH service. That's a great first step as there have been many times we've waited for the Studio City/Van Nuys DASH thinking, "it'd be nice to know if it's ever coming..." You can follow the transit service here and more specifically, the downtown DASH here. Mobility Maven is the department's General Manager, Rita Robinson.

Free Dodgers Parking Vs. Public Transit to Dodger Stadium

Streetsblogger Damien Newton is not happy with the most recent Dodgers free parking promotion, which will run during the series against the Oakland A's June 16-18, saving you $15. Newton's problem is that the Dodgers earlier this year refused to fund the public transportation shuttle between the stadium and Union Station, a program that began just last year. Here are his thoughts plus math: "Well, now it's official. The Dodgers don't consider people that don't own cars part of their fan base. For the record, the Dodgers parking lot fits 16,000 cars. At $15 a pop, they are losing more revenue with this three day promotion to 'all their fans' then they would have spent funding the bus service from Union Station to Dodger Stadium for the entire season." But will the A's games fill up the parking lot?

DASH Bus Hits & Kills Woman Outside Central Library

A few people have been asking what happened yesterday morning downtown near Central Library where a large memorial with flowers sits today. A pedestrian was hit by a DASH bus at 5th and Flower around 6:35 a.m. in the morning.

Today's annual Lobster Festival in Redondo Beach looks to be a big draw, what with our gorgeous weather and the delicious appeal of the much-loved crustacean. If you're headed down that way you can eliminate the parking woes by taking advantage of the free shuttle that runs to Seaside Lagoon from the Redondo Union High School parking lot (between Garnsey and Del Amo streets) anytime during the festival, which runs noon to 11 tonight and noon to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

It's meant to expedite patrons' tour of the 30+ galleries in the monthly Thursday event, but there have been many times where the Downtown Art Walk DASH has been empty (once it was a true party: check this crazy video out). Starting tomorrow, things on the new shuttle are mixing it up and it will no longer just be a city bus: welcome to "The Hippodrome" (as in the theatre)

Unless you like sitting in your car for a half hour, enjoy doing the Austin Powers 100-point turn or subscribe and donate $2000 or more for the Donor Valet, parking at the Hollywood Bowl is lame. So as you prepare yourself for the June 22nd opening of the Hollywood Bowl (date relevant to the official opening and not lease events), here are some tips: 1. There's always confusion between the Park & Ride and...

From Sherman Oaks to Burbank Airport it was just a little over 45 minutes by bus. A few bucks later and some good podcast listening on the ride (The California Report, This American Life), we were on our travels yesterday in a flash. No bothering friends for a ride, no use of cars and no Supershuttle, a.k.a., we will pick you up 3 hours before your flight and have to go pick up 6...
