A day after the Wayne Simmonds-Sean Avery incident in Philadelphia, the NHL’s “Wheel of Discipline” landed on “no discipline” for Flyers forward Simmonds and his use of the phrase “fucking faggot” towards New York Rangers’ gentleman Avery. To quote Colin Campbell, Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations in a press release issued by the NHL this afternoon:
Bitch, Please: NHL Dismisses Faggot Claims
LAst Night's Action: Matt Kemp's 40-40 Vision, Angels Death March, Simmonds Fag Watch
LA Dodgers defeat Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2. The Dodgers sent a press release this afternoon that summarized Clayton Kershaw’s Cy Young season. With 21 wins, 2.28 ERA and 248 strikeouts, Kershaw will most likely become the third Dodger pitcher to win the Triple Crown with Dazzy Vance (1924) and Sandy Koufax (1963, 1965, 1966).
Bad Boy Hockey Star Sean Avery Arrested for Shoving LAPD Cop, Called Officers 'Fat little pigs'
Sean Avery is known as the "bad boy" of the National Hockey League, and his bad boy ways were allegedly on display in full force last night at a party in the Hollywood Hills. The Los Angeles Police Department were called to the party at Avery's home following neighbor complaints, reports TMZ, however Avery did not welcome the cops with open arms.
LAst Night's Action: Ducks Come Out Black and Blue
St. Louis Blues defeat Anaheim Ducks 5-1. Wow. Just wow. Ducks were outshot by the Blues 53-14. Goalie Jonas Hiller was pulled in the final five minutes of the second period after facing 34 shots. There were a total of 37 penalties for 147 penalty minutes. Two game misconducts, four 10-minute misconducts, countless fighting and roughing penalties. But let’s point out the positive: the Ducks surrendered only...
LAst Night's Action: A Tale of Three Runs
Indiana Pacers defeat LA Lakers 118-117. The Lakers outscored the Pacers in the first three quarters. They led by 16 points a minute into the fourth quarter. Then the Pacers went on a scoring run that was capped off by a Troy Murphy put-back off of a miss right before the buzzer went off in the fourth that gave the Pacers the one-point victory. Despite being 7-10 the Pacers also handed the Celtics a 16-point defeat in their second game of the season. The Lakers meanwhile suffer only their second loss of the season and face Philadelphia tonight.
Staples Opener: Not So Fast, Kings Fans

It would be a celebration of the Kings young guns, who scored all three goals against the St. Louis Blues. I would be praising the coming of a new savior, rookie netminder Jonathon Bernier, who played brilliantly. But alas, the game still has three periods, and last...

Kings 3, Blue Jackets 0 - Columbus lost their fifth road game in a row, and Mathieu Garon did everything he needed to make this one the third shut out during that stretch. He collected 26 saves for the Kings, while teammates Michael Cammalleri, Sean Avery, and Lubomir Visnovsky each notched goals. Next up, Detroit visits Los Angeles on Saturday. Clippers 110, Heat 95 - The Clippers were still without an injured Sam Cassell, but...
LAst Night's Action: Ford Retires to the 19th Hole
Jazz 102, Clippers 92 - Something about Utah just doesn't sit well with the Clippers. They fell to 1-30 in games at EnergySolutions Arena (yes, it's really called that), and have lost 7 of their last 8 overall. Mike Dunleavy was T-eed up, but if he's fined we're sure he can afford it. The Clippers were on the road the last three games, and will close out the calendar year with three at home against...
LA Kings Season Preview
AP photo by Jae C. Hong When the best moves made by an organization in the off season are in the front office, you can probably bet that it isn't going to be a stellar year on the ice. However, new GM Dean Lombardi was instrumental in turning San Jose into a legit contender. And new coach Marc Crawford is a flat-out winner. He coached the Avs to a championship in 1996. The previous...
