LAist Film Calendar: Warning!!! Pedophile, Dr. Horrible & Plenty of Creeps

It's easy to write off Warning!!! Pedophile Released sight unseen as cheap exploitation. Besides all those exclamation marks in the title, there's the convenient release on the heels of Roman Polansky's high-profile arrest for child-rape, an appearance by porn star Joanna Angel & a lead actor coming off of Silent Night, Zombie Night and (ahem) Vaginal Holocaust. Never mind the accompanying Dakota Fanning vehicle Father Xmas (at one point rumored to be Fanning's own child-rape film Hounddog). But the film's trailer tells a different story, of disturbed teens, real tragedy & raw emotion that's more Larry Clark than Larry Cohen. Make up your own mind, and then fawn or fight with the cast and crew at the evening showings.

You've got to love professional athletes with Twitter accounts. Lamar Odom has gotten in on the action and created a scavenger hunt. You have to take seven pictures of yourself outdoors. RT @RealLamarOdom:

LACMA Wants You to Get Wiki With It

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is part of 15 museums and cultural institutions nation-wide contributing to the Wikipedia Loves Art program, which kicked off yesterday and runs all February long. "Here’s how it works: for the month of February, LACMA and other museums welcome the public to photograph permanent collection objects to help Wikipedia illustrate its articles. Think of it as an art scavenger hunt," explains LACMA's Unframed blog.

The Fuck Yeah Fest, curated by Sean Carlson and Keith Morris has definitely had its troubles this year. The original financial backer pulled out just days before plans to announce the line up, and there was that little incident at the Hollywood Bowl. But the show must go on!
