If you were out and about in Hollywood or Downtown this Saturday, you may have been passed by groups of revelers dressed as all manner of Santa Claus (and the Missus). SantaCon, the venerable tradition of dressing up and making merry mayhem, took to the streets (and bars) once again this year.

SantaCon Revelers Braved the Rain for Yesterday's Merry-making
Yesterday the band of merry-making misfits bedecked in red and white (and other creative adaptations) Santa suits hit the rainy streets of Los Angeles for the annual SantaCon. They started at Philippe's in Downtown, and made their way to various points throughout the day. Although they stopped inside spots to get dry, staying dry wasn't on the menu; looks like the Santas had plenty opportunities to get their drink on. Luckily they were moving around town via Metro, so there were no drunken sleigh crashes affiliated with the outing.

This is an annual event aimed more at the naughty (although, hey, there's fun for the nice, too). It's SantaCon, a send up of sorts of the absurdity and kitsch of the Christmas season. Or, as the organizer puts it: "Santacon is a response to the consumer-culture of Amerika's Holiday season."
