Santa Clarita Man Charged with Sexual Assault of 14 Girls
After sexually assaulting at least 14 underage girls, some as young as twelve, 19-year-old Michael Downs has been arrested and faces 29 felony charges, reports KTLA. Downs, who lives in Santa Clarita, allegedly met the girls on Facebook, and lied to them by saying he was 16. He then arranged times and places to meet them, and that's when the attacks occurred.
High School Football Coach Arrested For Having Sex With Underage Student
An assistant high school football coach suspected of having sex with a 15-year-old student at the school where he coached was arrested yesterday at his home near Santa Clarita.
School officials reported to sheriff's deputies that they suspected that the 20-year-old coach Nicolas Ovendale and a girl had sex.

The 51-year-old victim walked over to his next door neighbor's house around the 3 a.m. to complain about some ongoing dispute. The neighbor shot the 51-year-old man in the torso, killing him. Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old male student at Santa Clarita's College of the Canyons was arrested Tuesday on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of child pornography after he was found attempting to film a boy using a campus restroom. Bomb Threats Called into Villaraigosa's Office, SCV Building
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's office at city hall yesterday morning was swept for a bomb after a threat was phoned in. “No evidence of a bomb or any sort of destructive device was located, nor has evidence been found lending credibility to this threat," mayoral spokesperson Sarah Hamilton said. And in Santa Clarita today, a bomb threat was called in to the Providence Holy Cross medical in the Valencia neighborhood. Both incidents come days after a car bomb attempt in New York City.
Traffic Reduced in Santa Clarita, Thanks to Cross Valley Connector
Some ten years after breaking ground, Santa Clarita officials last week opened the last segment of an 8.5 mile road that they hoped would relieve traffic throughout the city and valley. So far, the Cross-Valley Connector, which diagonally connects the 14 freeway with the 126 highway, has worked, city officials are touting today.

So you go the gas pump, insert your card and fill the tank. What you may not know is that a thief installed a card skimmer on the pump so they could steal your info and re-crete the card for their own purchase. Three prolific identify theft suspects were arrested of just that today by a large task force led by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department with the FBI, LAPD, Glendale Police, ICE, USPS and U.S. Attorneys Office.
